I remember my father always talking about what a scumbag he was in the 80s. Then he ran republican and my father seemed to lose his total sense of moral compass, because he will be damned if he votes Democrat. Its been a wild trip watching this all play out, kind of feels like a psychological experiment.

I dont talk to him much about politics. He is still glued to fox news and whenever I go over there its amazingly intolerable how they spin everything. He believes what he hears, they are in fear for their lives because the woke are coming to destroy the world or whatever. He was always set in his ways but hes a grumpy old man now. My mother who is a little easier ro talk to but still just conforms to his opinions, still avoids politic talk with me because we just dont see things the same way.

This is what I always find interesting as someone who never saw themselves as identifying with either party but has been labeled a “liberal” because I call out the very publicly available facts of how corrupt and detrimental to our country, republicans are. They always cry that the other side is doing the same thing they are and that everyone who doesn’t agree with them is brainwashed. Like no mfer, I just know the difference between right and wrong. If you guys are constantly doing shitty things, running on a platform of “we should be allowed to be assholes to whoever we want or it’s against our freedumbs,” and your party historically leaves the country in worse shape after inheriting a prosperous economy from a democrat, then there is absolutely no reason I would side with you. There’s not a single topic the right runs on that would attract me to them. Fuck, one of the few things Trump has said that he would do that I agreed with, being creating a national concealed carry permit, that mfer didn’t even do. Feel like I got off topic a bit here.

This is not easy for you. But I co-sign. I still keep a healthy distance from a few of my sisters because of their unbridled support for the president. To have an intellectually honest conversation with a Trump humper who makes $300,000/year is not in the least bit feasible

My family hated him since The Apprentice. They never found it cute or funny how he treated people. A girl did a dance to the "Money, money money" theme song in school, my grandma rolled her eyes. Her parents went to prison for embezzling millione of dollars.

This reminds me of the time a Texas county mutual insurance CEO absconded the country with all his clients' insurance payments, including mine. The next time I saw him, he was on the cover of a newspaper skiing down an alp with his fam looking for all the world as if he didn't have a care in the world. The "lie" part would be that Trump's first wife was skiing down with him nearby, but I swear to god that blonde celebrity in the background looked just like Ivana Trump, and it was in the 1980s.

I actually believe her story, I doubt a lot of people’s stories though. Doubting all stories besides what you chose to believe in is doing yourself a disservice though. I have a ton of stories that sound vastly unbelievable, however if you knew me you’d know they are true and my wife hates hearing them from other people when I venture back to areas I’ve left lol. Turns out crazy stuff happens in people’s lives, this girl you’re doubting didn’t even say anything that crazy. There was a rich guy, he was a piece of shit, her grandma could tell, and that’s about it. She added her own personal details that she remembers because it was her experience, it’s fine dude.
