I am…so sad. Please tell me the best, bravest, kindest, most heartfelt thing you have ever seen a person do that restored your faith in humanity.

I understand why some people would go no-contact with their parents, but how do some afford it the second they're an adult? Most people I've talked to who have good reasons to go no-contact have parents that won't pay to get them a license or let them have a job. And even with a job, most jobs minors get pay close to minimum wage, which, at least where I live, is unlivable.

I'm not asking this for advice on how to do it, I'm just asking out of curiosity because of how much I see people doing it on the internet.

For example, a family of 7 is murdered. Everyone is hacked to death at night and their bodies mutilated. The police came in the morning and found the eldest son sleeping, covered in everyone's blood and with the murder weapon nearby. He confessed to the murder, told detective he's just so enraged by his family that he killed them all. He even told detective details that only the perpetrator would know. Like where and how many stabs he did to each. Neighbors told the police they often heard them arguing loudly. There are CCTVs all around the neighborhood and no one went in or out except the family.

Problem is...the guy's paralyzed from the neck down. Has been for years. Doctors checked him and say it's impossible that he did the crime. But detectives also find that it's impossible for the other victims to stage it. When questioned, he said he didn't know how he did it, it's like a dream. Then came the lawyer, who promptly shut down further questioning.

How would this case end? Would the DA refuse to prosecute this?

Not talking about the usual “work out every day” or “read more” stuff. I’m talking about those small, almost stupid-sounding things that somehow made a huge difference.
Mine was starting to put my phone on the other side of the room at night. Suddenly I actually get out of bed instead of scrolling for 40 minutes.

Have you ever felt both hatred and compassion for the same person, constantly going from one feeling to the other?

In a situation like that, how do you decide where to stop?

Hi everyone I understand alligators are not the monsters we think they are, but still I hear the idea that getting in the water with them is still considered highly risky, I’m trying to understand is it just that they have bad vision and they are creatures that just kind of react like when they see something enter the water they see that as a food source, or is it just that so many of them have been fed and the attacks are from gators who have lost their fear of humans because of that? I’m not from down there and since I didn’t grow up around them and just occasionally visited down there I never fully understood what the truth is?

This sparked a debate in my workplace. Can a minority be racist? Someone argued that by definition racism requires you to believe that your race is superior, and, a person in the minority wouldn’t have such beliefs. They also stated that the reactions from minorities today is due to generational trauma, not racism.
My stance: I’m black and I believe racism isn’t specific to a single race. For example, why does a lot of parents tell their kids to not date outside their race?

How can I become better at sales?

I recently started working in sales and I want to become genuinely good at it, not just hit the occasional target.

I caught feelings for someone who I know isn’t going to be mine, and I’m having a really hard time letting go. I know I need to move on, but it’s easier said than done.

What actually helped you get over someone you couldn’t have?

They only act on their evil behavior only when they think it's safe to do so, like stealing and backstabbing. When they got caught and asked about their bad behavior, they either won't admit it or accuse someone else.

I mean, have you ever met a 'confident evil' type person, who probably say things like "Yes, I am evil. I enjoy hurting people. Their suffering is my pleasure. Muahahahaha (evil laughter)"?

I feel like a chicken scratching through garbage when I’m searching for information online, wondering if I’ll ever find a single grain of wheat. How do you guys sift through all this useless information to find what’s actually useful?

We live in an artificial society built on enforced scarcity. Everything has a price tag, even pleasure. I’ve spent years trying to understand my purpose, being told it was my career, my family, or my future. But none of that was the truth. Those were just illusions we cling to because they give us brief hits of pleasure. The real purpose is pleasure itself. Bhoga.

I once told my dad I was sad. Not for myself, but for the fact that our entire world runs on money. Without it we are nothing. It defines our worth and dictates our happiness. It captures pleasure and sells it back to us after we labor for the right to feel it.

Then I open Instagram or TikTok and the algorithm feeds me videos echoing the same thought. The futility of all this. My dad would talk about twenty year olds drifting through life, drinking, laughing, doing a few DoorDash/food delivery runs, then enjoying themselves again. I asked him what was wrong with that. They are simply using what society gives them. If anything it exposes the fault in a system where laborers are treated so poorly that educated youth would rather float than submit.

Every time I see these videos I wonder what the fix is. Changing my life through tech or becoming a founder is one path, but that does nothing for us collectively. What do we do as a people. How do we find truth. How do we learn to enjoy our lives without sinking back into survival mode.

Waking up is not enough anymore. We need to come together and decide what comes next.

So I know fashion for women is cyclical and for some reason there's a bit of like mom jeans '80s things happening right now. But I'm watching this thing on Al Capone on PBS right now and just love all the short haircuts and cute flapper dresses that the women wear and just wondered why this never came back?

I have been wondering about this lately.

So much of online conversation seems built around quick reactions, short opinions, and immediate responses. There is nothing wrong with that but I sometimes miss conversations where people take their time with an idea and genuinely explore it.

For those of you who enjoy slower, more thoughtful conversations, where do you find them online?

Have you found communities where people still ask open questions, disagree thoughtfully, and think together without everything becoming a debate or a race to respond?

I’d love to hear about your experiences with this. What helped you stop comparing yourself to other people, or at least made it easier to deal with?

Say someone's commited the most heinous crimes possible. They escape justice and set out to spend the rest of their lives alone, in a secluded place. What's guaranteed is no human contact ever again. What's not guaranteed is their long-term survival or happiness.

Would you be fine with such terms, even though they don't necessarily guarantee punishment? Or, should they necessarily be hunted down and brought to justice? Which is to say, jail on taxpayer's money, or execution?

If doing the right thing consistently made your life harder, while doing the wrong thing made everything easier, how long could you realistically keep choosing the harder path?

Sorry if I sound like a moron, but what actually is a bot? I see people mention them on Reddit all the time and I’m assuming it’s some kind of fake account/AI or something but what actually is it, why do people make them and how do they work?
