General Discussion Curious⦠Any Lambchop fans around here?
Iāve loved both bands since the beginning and always thought National fans would probably enjoy them. Their new album Punching the Clown is fantastic btw, AOTY candidate in my book.

Morby's "Little Wide Open" is obsessed with me
I am getting around to this album a bit late. It is hitting me in the good goods. Its produced by Aaron and it sounds like a mid west American version of the national. All of the songs have been c-walkin' around my head for a month now. Recommend

Looking for 1 ticketā¦
Hi, I know this is a long shot and Iām late, but only this weekend I got a confirmation that I could actually travel to Spain for the show in San SebastiĆ”n. Iām looking for 1 ticket, since Iām traveling solo. I know about the chaos and frustration to get tickets, but Iām asking here, if anyone has a spare ticket or canāt make it to the show for some reason and would sell it to a good fan, please let me know. I joined the waitlist of course and Iāve been checking the Kursaal resale page, but my hopes are here. Thanks.

General Discussion The new Interpol has big SWB vibes
As the title suggests. The new Interpol record is surprisingly wonderful after a series of so-so albums. Quite a bit of it sounds like The National. I think it'll appeal to a lot of fans here

General Discussion Anyone notice a change in their music SWB and on
I've been a huge fan of this band for the last 10 years. I just cannot enjoy their newer albums. I don't find rhythm sections within their songs as melodic or complex as it once was. Less organic and acoustic instruments. It just seems monotone. Less creative drum lines as well. I almost daily listen to Their earlier albums, and I can't name a song on a newer album.
Has anyone noticed this? I love this band. I'm not sure they will release any new albums I will enjoy.

General Discussion A Little Love for Not In Kansas
Every time this one comes on it takes my breath away. Some of the best lyrics and singing Matt has ever done. One of the most beautiful songs ever written IMO.

General Discussion Is The National an acquired taste?
Six years ago, I hated The National but always had to listen to it. Now, it is far and away my favourite band, and I find myself rediscovering many songs from Alligator and other older albums that I used to not care for. Has anyone else shared this experience with me?

The moment i knew me and my cat were on the same page.
Not everyone understand how The National makes you feel. But when Toby walked up and sat on teh speaker, and got that melancholy look on his face, i knew I got the right cat!

General Discussion SWB fans, please check this guy out!
All of his stuff is so directly SWB (& implicitly Painting of a Panic Attack by Freightened Rabbit) coded, curious to see what yāall think about his music

General Discussion Did the Spotify version of Smoke Detector change?
When I listened to SD earlier this week some of the vocals felt more "talk-y" than I remembered. Nothing drastic but I swear they are different than they were a few weeks ago.

Dumb question about Aaronās guitar sound on Daughter from Hell
As you may know, Aaron plays guitar on Gracie Abramsās title track from Daughter from Hell (which he also produced), and itās similar to the guitars on Terrible Love (standard version). Is there a word for this type of guitar sound? All I can think is āgrumblyā or āgrungyā, but I wonder if thereās a better description. It tickles my brain just so, and I love it.
