Announcements ANNOUNCEMENT: New Rule Regarding Actors' Appearances
After discussion, we are putting a moratorium on discussing actors' appearances. This new rule applies to posts and comments made to "rate" an actor's appearance, whether positive or negative. These discussions quickly veer into troublesome language and undesirable connotations and do not promote healthy discussion of Supergirl or her world. Yes, the characters are attractive and so are the people who portray them, but this isn't a rating board, and such threads often devolve into arguments about looks. Doubly so for actresses. You may appreciate the looks you like without flooding the board with low-effort content, accusations, or arguments. If you don't like the way someone looks? Great. You can discuss that somewhere else.
Offending posts and comments will be removed. Repeated violations may lead to sanctions. Note that this does not extend to purely art; you may enjoy and share art, official and fan-generated, as per the sub's rules, since existing low-effort and civility rules cover those discussions.
We want this board to be a welcoming place for Supergirl fans new and old. The last thing that we want is legitimate discussion to get lost in a hurricane of arguments about this or that actress' looks. There are so many great stories and characters in Supergirl's orbit. We encourage you to share those and find positive ways to engage with our growing community. Supergirl represents hope for many of us, and as a hero, she inspires and shines brightly. We want to embrace that inspiration, so we feel this rule will help keep discussion focused on the good things.
We're working hard to make this place better every day. If you see a post and/or comment that you believe breaks a rule, please report it. Do not exchange insults; report, don't respond, in that case. Remember to keep the rules in mind and help us make this place a more welcoming environment for fans of every Supergirl incarnation.
If you have any concerns, please send us a modmail and we will do our best to address them.
Thank you for being part of our community. Let's all go be Super!

Question Which comics should I get?
Just planning to go into the comic shop and ask for everything from the 1990s to 2006. See what they have completed in chronological order and take that. If they have anything at all. Completely going into this blind as of right now. So I thought this post couldn't hurt.
As of why this arbitrary date it's because I think I heard someone say this was roughly the golden age of comics. Some may disagree. But I genuinely don't know. Just wanna check out super girl.

Question Please help me find the tshirt she’s wearing
I don’t recognize it and all my searches will only pull up the Supergirl suit. I have a brown leather trenchcoat and I’d like to wear this outfit for Halloween!

Discussion Fandago at home thumbnail
I went and saw this movie in theatres despite the negative press and enjoyed it. I usually buy all my movies from Fandago at Home and just noticed Supergirl is on sale. I would have bought it full price day one, my issue is, why is Lobo on the thumbnail?
They have so many clean promo posters of solo Milly but heres ugly Lobo taking up half the cover.

Question Would you prefer Supergirl to join the Justice League or Titans in the DCU?
I personally would rather her join the Titans with Blue Beetle since they are both in their 20s compared to the other superheroes in the DCU who are older. I would also like Nightwing, Beast Boy, Raven and Starfire to join.

What would you say are the core characteristics of well-written Supergirl?
I've been reading/watching a lot of Supergirl lately, trying to get an idea of what her character is. Also trying to see her as more than just Superman with boobs. Like what sets her apart from her cousin, if that makes any sense.

For Those Wondering about the Supergirl (2026) Script, the Non English Dialogue is Available Spoiler
wiki.languageinvention.comFrom what I can tell:
- Alura and Zor El originally had far more dialouge
- Bomar and his wife originally had a subplot going into more depth about their efforts to protect their daughter
- It was briefly shown in the movie, but originally, more emphasis was to be put on the fact that not every resident of Argo was able to make it to safety before the city launched and Krypton was destroyed
- The child prisoners originally had (very little, granted) dialouge in the script
- In the bar in Bilquis, there was originally a full song in the planet’s language, to be sung by the stage performer. Only 2 words (the chorus) made it into the final cut
- The brief glimpse we see of Kara caring for the sick on Argo was originally going to be expanded on a bit
There’s more, but this is what stood out to me
David Peterson, Jessie Peterson’s husband and collaborator, also uploaded the dialogue to his Ao3 account. At the end, he has some behind the scenes notes on production in regards to the conlangs

Question Kal always has children. Sometimes in the present, sometimes in the future, sometime in the future that travels back to the past. But what about Kara? From all the versions that I've seen, Kara has no children. She either dies young or is old single with no children. Except for 1 Brainiac's Daughter

Discussion Am I the only one who thinks a younger Deborah Ann Woll wouldve been amazing as WoT Supergirl
Ok i usually dont do the whole fancast stuff but while watching Daredevil i could see so much of her characters DNA (karen page) inside of WoT Supergirl. Also whilst looking at some panels a lot of the drawings reminded me of her. I think she wouldve been a great part for the role. She's obviously still an amazing actress and its not like she's old, acts old or looks old by any stretch of the imagination (shes 41 and is beautiful asf) but she probably is the wrong pick for a 21 year old and probably deserves more than to be typecast into another "traumatized young woman with survivors guilt role" anyways AND Milly Alcock was 1000% amazing in the role eventhough im quite critical of the film. But yeah what do you yall think? – especially those who watched daredevil.
