I was reading about glacial collapse probabilities in the mid 90's in IPCC modeling and reports (if we didn't stop or strongly mitigate climate change). I didn't believe I would live long enough to see a major one. They were generally on the 50'ish yr timeline.
Nor did I imagine the overwhelmingly destructive force of these disasters. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Reminds me of that story of the floods and the guy was offered refuge over and over again. When he reached heaven, he asked God, “why you didn’t save me?”

How? These people didn’t have time to ask for refuge over and over again. It was a very sudden flood that destroyed everything

Elaborate on how these people being dominated by natural disaster reminds you of a fable that puts the blame on the victims for refusing aid. Did these people have opportunities to ask for and then refuse the help of god, in your eyes?

This reply was more in reference to the broader situation we as a world have found ourselves in. Global warming science was the boat and the helicopter that was offered to assist. Yet no one answered the call. Now, it’s too late.😥
