I was reading about glacial collapse probabilities in the mid 90's in IPCC modeling and reports (if we didn't stop or strongly mitigate climate change). I didn't believe I would live long enough to see a major one. They were generally on the 50'ish yr timeline.
Nor did I imagine the overwhelmingly destructive force of these disasters. Absolutely heartbreaking.
