I am a native german speaker and recently finished my University with an exchange semester in Buenos Aires (boludo). I studied environmental engineering and the course was entirely in spanish and therefore I got more interested in the language overall. I always took classes, but someone I began reading spanish literature too. Then I created a tool which helped me quickly translate the complicated words and explain the grammar. I created it for learners who want regular, structured Spanish practice beyond isolated vocabulary lists, random grammar tips, or passively using language apps.

Every week, I share free activities designed to help you actually use Spanish, including:

Im a native English speaker and have been learning Spanish for about 4 months now. Current study tools consist of working with multiple tutors on Preply and italki (completely in Spanish, language transfer and cuéntame podcasts, and dreaming Spanish. These seem to be good tools so far but I’m curious if there are any other good resources I may be missing.

I’m desperately trying to learn Spanish and looking for things to watch. My scope of Spanish-speaking media is very narrow. I loved Narcos if that counts. I also have seen a few Spanish-speaking movies I liked like El Incidente, La casa lobo, Monos, Sin Nombre, Los parecidos, and Historia de lo oculto. My aunt is Mexican but only watches romance so she can’t help much. I’m looking for action or horror I suppose. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Sometimes, translating word for word just doesn’t work. Learning how people actually express an idea in their original language can help you sound more natural.

hi everyone! I’ve been learning spanish throughout the summer (with some background from high school). I’ve been focusing mostly on comprehensible input, practicing pronunciation through shadowing youtube videos, and I just finished up Language Transfer which i absolutely loved.

I’m very much a traditional learner who needs goals, a curriculum, etc. I love the CI style of language learning because it’s genuinely a lot of fun (I’m watching through the telenovela Pasión right now), but i feel like with CI it’s hard to see exactly where you are and are not developing.

Anyone have any methods they use to create their own curriculum or at least some sort of order/plan?

These words are easy to confuse because they both mean “key” in English and they also look similar. However, their meanings are different in Spanish.

La llave means a physical key: something you use to unlock a door or a lock.

La clave is generally used in a figurative way. Depending on the context, it can refer to something essential, a clue, a password, or an important piece of information.

Here's a fun way to remember them:

🔑 La llave is something you can carry: think of the verb llevar.

🕵️ La clave can be something you figure out: think of the English word “clue” (notice how they both start with the same two letters).

I’ve also included a little test at the end so you can see if you understood the difference.

I want to learn Spanish to become fluent. I am a language enthusiast and I want to learn as many languages as possible. I took one Spanish course in college but that did not teach me anything. I want to start from scratch but idk where to start from. There’s just too much on YouTube and idk which place would be a good idea to start from.
