People doing flash robs or most of the people shoplifting arent doing it because they're poor. They just want free shit and nobody is stopping them from doing it.
Rich people will still steal if theres no consequences.
Defund the police doesn’t mean that there are no cops. It means that there are different types of first responders for different situations.Â
Like a homeless person being a public nuisance would get a social worker, a domestic violence call would get a mental health expert plus a cop, and an armed robbery would get cops, etc.Â
No one is under the impression that we don’t need a police force, but we also have to reconcile with the reality that when you dial 911 it shouldn’t be either cops or paramedics that show up, there need to be more options to fit the scenario.Â
