Hey everyone!
A while ago, I shared NoteKar as a lightweight, privacy-first timestamp clicker. Over the past several months, based on your feedback, I’ve been working on a complete architectural evolution of the app.
Today, I’m releasing NoteKar v7.4.0, which I consider the definitive, feature-complete version of the app.
The Problem NoteKar Solves
Most habit and time trackers either:
- Demand complex project setups, manual tags, and endless to-do list organization.
- Force mandatory logins, collect telemetry, push subscriptions, or sync your private life to cloud servers.
- Pretend that time is infinite.
NoteKar was built on a different premise: **Time is finite, and sometimes you don’t need an entire task management system, you just need an existential mirror of where your conscious hours are actually going.**
⏳ The Biggest Addition: Life Audit & The Cost of the Void
NoteKar v7.4.0 introduces the Life Audit Engine:
Every day is strictly divided into three buckets:
24h = Sleep + Logistics (Food, Commute, Routine) + Conscious Window
Any conscious waking hour not accounted for in deliberate focus sessions or intentional moments is calculated as the Unaccounted Void.
Instead of abstract streaks, NoteKar calculates:
• Conscious Waking Days Lost: How many waking days (e.g. 14h conscious blocks) vanished without a trace.
• Earth (24h) Days Lost: Equivalent full planetary rotations consumed by unrecorded time.
• Intentionality Ratio: What percentage of your conscious life was deliberately captured.
• 6 Audit Horizons: Today, 7-Day Weekly, 30-Day Monthly, 45-Day Habit Formation, 180-Day Half-Year, and 365-Day Planetary Year.
✨ What Else is in v7.4.0:
• ⏱️ Spatial Chronometer: An optically centered clock face featuring tall, bundled 144pt *Bebas Neue* typography with tabular figures (100% offline, zero network requests). Active stopwatch sessions are preserved seamlessly across mode toggles.
• 📜 Life Ledger (Redesigned History): IN and OUT punches are automatically paired into interval session cards with emerald/crimson connector rails and 1-tap live session completion.
• 📱 High-Density Compact Mode: A high-density timeline presenting 2x–3x more entries on screen by intelligently suppressing empty note containers.
• ✍️ Zero-Lag Note Entry: Overhauled text composition with auto-capitalization and zero keyboard frame drops.
• 📊 Executive Intelligence Hub: 90-day rolling activity heatmap and circadian rhythm charts computed locally on your device.
• 🌉 Obsidian & Logseq Markdown Export: Export clean Markdown journals with timestamps, duration metrics, and telemetry tables.
• 📅 .ICS Calendar Sync: Export tracked sessions directly as RFC 5545 calendar files into Google Calendar, Samsung Calendar, Outlook, or Proton.
• 🔍 Android Global Text Selection: Highlight text anywhere on your phone (Chrome, WhatsApp, Kindle) and tap *"Log in NoteKar"* to save offline notes instantly.
• ⚡ Tasker / MacroDroid Automation: Broadcast API (`ACTION_LOG_MOMENT`) and custom URL schemes (`notekar://`) to automate logging via NFC tags or quick settings.
• 🔒 Zero-Bullshit Privacy: Hardware-backed AES-256 database encryption via Android Keystore, App Lock, screenshot protection, and app-switcher privacy shielding. 0 analytics, 0 trackers, 0 ads, 0 network dependencies.
• 🌍 7 Offline Languages: English, Hindi (with Devanagari numerals), Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Russian.
