I felt bored by sanitized Headspace and Calm. So I made an embodied self-care app, one that happens in your hands instead of your head. Does this vid capture it well?

A few years ago I got into meditation, but I was disappointed by the apps out there. Calm and Headspace and Insight timer are great in some ways, but there's no imagination, or embodiment to the apps themselves. They keep meditation as this ethereal thing, very hard to approach from square 1.

So I made this Zen-inspired evaporating painting Practice, as an app (soon releasing on iPad, later on iPhone). It's called Serenity Sketch. It’s not meditation, it’s more about relaxation and introspection, adjacent to mindfulness.

Trouble is, there aren't really good 'comps' for it. I'm experimenting with App Store vids, to explain the app/game.

Based on this video, what do you understand this app is about? Is it grabbing enough? What would you change?

I built an app that measures how far you actually scroll every day

I made a journal for people who never manage to keep journaling. Onyo - one word a day

I like the idea of journaling, but I’ve never been very good at actually sticking with it. Writing a full entry every day quickly starts feeling like another task. So I made Onyo.

The whole idea is that every day you choose just one word that describes the day, along with a color. That’s it.

Over time, those tiny entries build into a visual mosaic of your month and year, so you can look back and immediately get a feeling for how different periods of your life felt.

I deliberately kept Onyo extremely simple:

• one word per day
• one color per day
• visual calendar / yearly mosaic
• works completely offline
• no account required
• no ads
• no data collection
• no subscription

The goal wasn’t to replace proper journaling apps, but to make something for people who want to remember their days without having to write paragraphs.

Onyo is $0.99 as a one-time purchase. No subscription or additional purchases.
