Does Google's ATS/resume screening count a Networks & Telecom engineering degree as "related field" to CS?
So I've got an engineering degree (5 years, equivalent to a master's) specialized in Networks and Telecom, but honestly a good chunk of my coursework was straight up CS, algorithms, Python/Java/C++, databases, some ML and cloud stuff too.
I keep seeing Google job posts say "CS or related technical field" and I can't stop overthinking whether their ATS actually filters out resumes based on the degree title before a human even looks at it, or if it's just scanning for skills/keywords regardless of what your major says.
Anyone here gotten through Google's screening with a degree that wasn't literally named "Computer Science"? Did it matter, or did your skills section just carry it? Trying to figure out if I should stress about this or just move on lol
