Resume won't upload to job application

I've tried uploading as both .dox and .pdf and they both instantly get declined. Anybody got any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

How large is the file?

If both formats fail instantly, it may be the application portal rather than your resume. Try a different browser or incognito mode, disable extensions, and check whether the job listing has a separate upload field. If it still fails, contact the employer or portal support with the exact error and timestamp.

Is it larger than 5 MB? This can happen if you have large images or with pdfs that are an image instead of text.

If all else fails, submit as a txt file. It won't be pretty, but it shouldn't get close to 5 MB.
