I feel so tired and foggy. I'm trying to figure out how to get enough nutrients into my body without the heavy carb load. I feel like all I eat anymore is vegetables!

I hope you do soon my friend! And may I suggest some miso soup? It has good proteins and goes down easily. It’s my go to when feeling “ick” and nothing is appealing. Could also be I rarely get to eat Asian unless I’m out with friends

u/stillsheryl Thank you for the "Oh, hello" card! The Little Mermaid is one of the first movies I saw in the theater. Our little town had one movie theater with one screen! You could sit in the regular seats or pay a dollar more and sit in the loges. We got a big 16-screen theater when I was in high school. The drive-in was the best, though! 🍿🎥 🚗

The first movie I remember seeing in the theater was E.T. I was terrified. Mainly from the part where E.T. is all gross and pale and in a body bag in a weird cryo freezer. That is not for kids! I found out a few years ago that the movie was originally meant to be a horror movie, with E.T. being the nice alien while the others terrorized the humans. Funny thing- I had an E.T. doll that I loved very dearly, even though I was so scared that he was under my bed in that body bag! 😆

u/BubblySunflowers Thank you for the beautiful One Sheep postcard! 🐏 I love the LoTR movies. I've seen most of them in the theater. When I was a kid, we only had the animated musical version. I remember seeing the first movie with my boyfriend and a friend of ours. I got all teary-eyed at the beginning, thinking, "It's finally happening!" After the movie, our friend said, "I don't see what the big deal is." I asked if he ever read the books and he said no. I read so many books when I was a kid. We never had cable, just a few VHS tapes. Those books are full of every wonderful thing one could imagine! Happy last days of summer! 🌞

u/hoolu123 Thank you for the beautiful Turkish wrapping paper card and envelope! I do enjoy thrifting! We went to my favorite place, Eco Thrift, about two weeks ago to buy school clothes for my youngest son. We got everything he needed for about $100! That will last for most of the year, unless he has a big growth spurt. They were having their big 50% off sale, so a lot of shirts were only $1-2. I found a freaking rad Stray Cats hoodie for $2.50! There was a while track of hoodies and T-shirts from their last tour. I don't know how they got there, but I was freaking out! 😆 I got my husband and son each a T-shirt. I also found a Bowie branded Let's Dance album cover T-shirt that was brand new!! Nobody was as excited as me, but whatever. I love looking for stronger there, too. Right now is the best time to stock up on Xmas cards, while they're 20-30 in a bag and only $2.49. Okay, enough about that. Happy end of summer! ⛱️

It was crazy how, when we were deboarding the plane, it became instantly hot and smelled like cigarette smoke. I haven't been in a building with smokers in probably twenty years! We checked out Meow Wolf Omega Mart. What did you do while you were there?

I had actually forgotten about Skinny Legs and All until I saw it here! 📚 Thank you also for the lovely bookmarks, tea and stickers! I loved The Incredible Journey when I read it as a kid. I know I also read Watership Down, but I didn't remember anything about it. My brain tells me it was very sad. Maybe I blocked it out? I recently listened to an audiobook version of Building a Fire by Jack London. He always manages to incorporate animals into his stories, especially wolves! What are you reading now/next?

u/siamlinio Thank you for the lovely Peninsula State Park postcard! I used to love going to my family's reunions. We haven't had one since my Great Grandmother passed away. It's sad when the elders are all gone and the next generation becomes the elders. My parents and their siblings are the elders now! I would love to go kayaking. I think my kids are both big enough now. 😆

Cats are great at making us laugh and the orange ones are a special kind of silly! My sister had an orange cat called Lucian who lived orange toys. He would always pick the orange ones. He would also pretend he was going to throw up if you paid attention to anyone but him. 😆

I laughed so hard at Salt Bae. 😆 I was so curious to know if people go to school to learn ice carving, then I remembered that my friend mentioned learning it at culinary school! I don't know that I've ever seen one in person, as only wealthy people can afford that kind of thing. Maybe I'll have one for my fiftieth birthday in a few years!

I recently tested all of my pens and got rid of write a few. I'm so picky about pens these days. I just buy them at the college at supply store so I can buy singles instead of a multi pack with five pens that I don't use.
Has there been a good Hollywood movie about suffragettes? I think now is the time! 💜 🤍 💚

u/lemonlolipopW Thank you for the beautiful Stationery Fest postcard! Very cool stamps. I usually get stationery from Daiso and from my Pen Friends. I need to reorganize my stash again. I keep putting things in boxes for later, with no rhyme or reason and now I don't know what's what! 😆 I think my handwriting does change a little bit with my mood. Mostly, I have to take my time because my hands will hurt or my writing will start to go uphill at the end of each line. I really love the pretty rose gold sparkles on this card! 🌹
