Is this worth it for a gaming pc?

Post image
Upvotes

This costs about $1799 AUD, I don't know a lot about PCs to really know what each of the parts do as this is going to be my first pc. Once the PC comes I am going to buy DDR4 32GB of RAM separately as well as 1tb of ssd storage space to replace those parts. Please let me know if this is worth it. Im using ple.com.au by all means if anyone can help me out or maybe find something on that website thats better value please let me know.

$2500 is my max right now; play games like Civ 6, hogwarts legacy, total war warhammer III, world of tanks; want something to last me 7-10 years

  • Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • 360mm Digital Display AIO (Upgraded 2.0 Version - Improved Acoustics)
  • MSI / ASUS / GIGABYTE ATX B850 Motherboard (Wi-Fi + Bluetooth) pending feedback on what components they are using currently.
  • Dual Channel DDR5 RAM ARGB (Capacity and speed shown in variant) selected 32 GB RAM
  • NVMe SSD Gen 4.0 (Capacity varies based on selection) - going with 2TB
  • NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB
  • AI Galaxy V3
  • 850W Gold ATX 3.1 Power Supply (Capacity varies based on selection)
  • Windows 11 Home

don’t mind that it wouldn’t arrive until mid October.

Opportunity to buy a used I9-14900 with RTX 4090 24GB for 2000€.. BUT.. it's a former mining rig.

Upvotes

Hey y'all, I'm currently looking around on behalf of some friends who are looking to buy their son his first gaming PC.

As the title suggests, this morning they just shot me an offer for a used PC sporting the following specs:

Mainboard: Gigabyte B760M Aorus Elite X AX
GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 4090 Ventus 3X 24G OC
CPU: Intel Core I9-14900
RAM: Crucial Pro DDR5 RAM 32GB (2 x 16) 6000MHz CL36
PSU: Corsair RM1200x
The other parts are also listed but I figured these would be the most important to mention.

Obviously for 2000€ that's a steal. But they also mentioned that it was used for a few months of crypto mining. I'm not too familiar with how much wear and tear crypto mining would inflict on a GPU, so I told them I'd get back to them after informing myself, and that I'd only go forward with the deal if they personally know and trust the seller.

Moral questions aside, I'm not sure if I want to give them the go. Kind of worried they're falling for a scam or a GPU that is going to fail them after a few years of use. Any thoughts?

edit:
Update:
I'm still waiting for them to get back to me on if the PC is a private offer or something they found on the net. If it's a private offer, I'll probably offer them to go check the PC out in person, maybe check the SMART data on the SSD to see how long it potentially was in use.

Update 2:
Turns out I was panicking too much over the "few months of mining". It was a private offer and it sounds like the PC wasn't in much use at all. Obviously I'm still going to give it a small check up once it arrives, but I'm very happy to announce that a 15 year old boy is going to have a very, very happy Christmas.

First time PC buyer looking for advice on where to start

Upvotes

Hi! I have been a console gamer all my life, an I am looking to get a gaming pc for the first time. I needed to some help as I was looking online I was very overwhelmed by the options on Walmart, Amazon, and all the other online markets. The price range I have currently is between $1500-2000. I am looking for a Pc that can comfortably play multi-player games like overwatch, valorant, and cs without any hiccups. I'm not sure where to start looking. I would have gone to a microcenter like a lot of posts I see suggest but sadly the closest one is 300 miles away. So I am looking online for the best pre builts in my range. I would really appreciate any help I can get thank you!

I'm struggling with finding a good pc that will last me a long time that is built well. I came across this barely used one and i'm trying to find more information about the specs but the basic info is

Windows 11 Home

CPU AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (AM5/4.7/104M/C8/T16/120W)

Memory 32GB DDR5 (PC5)

Storage SSD 2TB

Graphics Card Radeon RX9070XT

The price is about $2100 so it's pushing the budget, but am I paying too much extra for a more "premium build" ?

LF Prebuilt Gaming PC

Upvotes

Hello again. Im looking for a gaming pc with no rgb or anything with a bunch of leds. something in a case like the fractal design north. My budget is about 2500, cant go above that at all if possible. I have all the peripherals (monitor, mouse, keyboard, headset) so the pc is all i need. last thing is it needs upgradable storage or if it comes with like 4Tb of storage thats perfect. I want to run games like crimson desert, forza 6, wukong, elden ring, rd2, cyberpunk, and COD at high graphics. 1080p is good enough of a res for me.

If anyone can find something that checks most of those boxes please let me know, ive searched for so long and cant find anything. Any and all suggestions welcome! thank you guys for all your help!

I’m looking to upgrade my 1070ti build from 2018.

I want something that’s mid-high range. I use my computer for work too which involves a lot of chrome and excel tabs so that’s why I want lots of RAM

PC Gaming

Upvotes

Hi guys,

For a while I been thinking of switching to PC gaming from PS5 but lately Sony has given me more of a reason to make the switch even faster. I have started to do my research and I am still trying to learn more about what specs are needed to have a decent gaming experience. I mostly play RPG and Souls games (Dark Souls, Elden Ring, Sekiro, Lies of P, Kahazan, etc. Would love any input and recommendation on what to buy as a first timer. Also any opinions on this type of deal?

New to buying prebuilts

Upvotes

Hi there! I am looking for a prebuilt PC because my lenovo legion fans recently crapped out, and absolutely NOBODY can fix them idk why. I am looking for a PC thats honestly no more than $800. I play games like stardew valley, modded MC, RDR2, roblox, slime rancher, deltarune/undertale, etc. I previously had a Lenovo legion s7 I got in 2021 and it ran all of those just fine. I was going to buy this PC at first, but rn its out of stock. Anything similar to my old laptop or that PC I linked is something I am 100% content with. Im a simple guy. Thank you to anyone who decides to help! Its much much appreciated!

I feel like the best time to get a PC will be before the end of the year.

I haven't heard a Positive news regarding RAM prices recently. I also don't want to wait as demand Increase due to this companies price Gouging and monopoly on the Market. best news i heard came out about a month or two ago about a Chinese company named CXMT entering the market. But even so it will take at least until 2028-29 before prices stabilizes. i don't wanna be pessimistic about this issue, but the direction the PC market is going right now is rather unsettling.

this are some options i picked I want a high end PC Brand new!. i will be choosing one before the end of the year. hopefully they are better deals with the same or even better specs on Black Friday and during the holiday season. hopefully by then i have that amount of money saved up.

Hey everyone, I’m looking to buy a gaming PC and could really use some help choosing. (very new to PC gaming)

My budget is around $2,500, and I’m looking for the best performance I can get for that money. I mainly play games like Rainbow Six Siege, Warzone, Minecraft, Forza, Destiny 2, and other demanding games.

I’d prefer NVIDIA, but I’m open to AMD if the performance/value is significantly better.

i wanted to know if this was good deal. Open to suggestions.

These good specs for $1399?

I'm not exactly the most knowledgeable when it comes to what performs better or worse.

Are these specs considered good?

Upvotes

rtx 5070 12gb, intel core i5 14400f, and 16gb ram.
the only thing I might be worried about is if the ram is enough. should I upgrade to 32 gigs? the total price for all of it (with 16 gigs) is 1400.

Is this the best I can get at this price?

RTX 5090 Pre-Built

Upvotes

Hello!

I am wanting to get a pre-built PC for 5090 because it seems to be cheaper than to have the actual GPU these days.

Does anyone know if there’s gonna be future sales or predictions of prices falling ?

Thank you
