There shouldn't be a minimum wage. The government doesn't decide what you are worth. That is between you and your employer.

When companies take advantage of people, they run the risk of alienating the workforce, which means no one will want to work for them. Businesses don't have all the power. There is power in the individual, and even more so when the individuals get together. The reason the free market doesn't work is when it is no longer a free market when the government starts meddling. When judges are bought off and in the pockets of the companies, that is when the free market fails
