You don't. Those are most likely high school students working their first job.

That’s still not enough for them. Why can’t high school kids earn a living wage? As a conservative we have lost the plot

u/UncreativeUsername84 13h ago

Because they're high school kids with no job skills and no responsibilities, and they're only working 15-20 hours a week. They're there to get experience and learn how to complete their tasks as required.

That’s bull. We live in a capitalist country which means people deserve to be paid fairly for their labor. I don’t care if you’re a janitor my dad always said no one has a right to look down on good honest labor. Pay people what they’re worth. If you have 4 years experience working in fast food that’s a skill

That's minimal job skills at best. How much should the kid working the French fries at McDonald's make? Put a number to it.

They should make a living wage. McDonald’s CEO is making 10 million a year I think we can give workers a livable wage for their area

He gets paid $1.6 million in cash and the rest in stock options, which don't come out of the company's profit. Each McDonald's location is owned by a franchisee, not the McDonald's corporation. The McDonald's corporation is the landlord and rents those locations to the franchisees.

Yes they do. Who do you think writes the stock options?

The shares are created out of thin air - the money doesn't come from the corporation. The money comes from the buyers of those shares of stock when the CEO sells them, and he can't sell them for a set number of years (usually 2+).

it still creates an expense

Which are minimal legal fees to draft a new incentive agreement and create more shares, and then accounting adjustments to show the new share structure.
