Not funding an entire genocide, taxing billionaires wealth, single payer health coverage (saves 1 Trillion on dollar cost alone), abolish ICE (which has bigger budget than the marines), no temper tantrum tariffs, to name a few. All of these would make life measurably easier
He obviously cant snap his fingers and pass a bill. He's running for senate. There are 100 senators (2 representing each state) that vote on bills and decide if they 'pass' the senate. The more senators that are elected that support a particular idea, the easier it is to pass.
It started at zero, but now an increasing number of senator and representatives support medicare for all. Electing Abdul would solidify becoming one step closer to single payer healthcare becoming a reality in the u.s., but thats one example.
As a recent example, I think it was about 4 weeks ago, they passed a bill to give another like $3.3B to israel, and it just narrowly passed. As we elect more people that are anti-genocide, funding to israel will begin to stop.

Yeah I understand all that. But none of it answers my question. Heās running almost verbatim on Bernieās and AOCās platform. Those two havenāt achieved anything yet. So how is he going to be different? Thatās the level of detail I as a voter want and need.
I hope he wins because the Republican needs to lose. But regardless, I have no hope that heāll actually effect any real change. Heās just another politician riding the populist wave.
You have to give it time. It is true that at any given time, i could say a 1-senator change wont make a difference. Just like MAGA Mike Rogers winning wont instantly make a difference either
Another thing i thought of is pressure of the caucus. As more elected officials support populist ideals, their bulk support will accelerate. What i mean is if 70% of democrats support M4A, it will be harder to elect a dem that is against M4A. Kinda like "shifting the overton window" so to speak
I'm assuming this is just a bad faith argument since senators don't have a magic wand. He would be 1/100 of the senators representing 1/2 of the Congress. His website lists the guiding principles that he thinks will improve things many of those things he will not get to vote on. Of the things he will get to vote on the most impactful items seem to be budgets that marginally reduce military spending (relative to baseline) and specifically try to limit military spending to foreign governments.

Want less crime? Use taxes to help out the citizens that need it most so we stop clawing for scraps at the bottom. There is a better way to behave, and you all have lost the plot.

The rich need to pay more and pay their workers more. Money trickles up. It's pointless them sitting on a mountain of cash that will never be spent when if we purchase their goods and services it'll end up in their hands anyways. At the very least we got to play in the economy too.
They don't sit on a mountain of cash. They invest it into the companies. They get part of that company in return. That part of the company grows in value. Their net worth grows in value.

My employees work with me to make products the world values and therefore we sell our products for a profit. I am wealthy by most standards and am thankful for this.

I have very little empathy for āpoorā people in America who are actually in the top 5-10% of the world. Plenty of poorer people who work much harder and have less than spoiled Americans who believe they are poor because they compare to those closest to them and convince themselves America is a horrible place to be - see current Democrat party
