Itās generally accepted as no, it is not insurrection if it is not violent, that would be just regular crime; but the definition doesnāt specify it. But once there is violence, it is defined insurrection etc. The original dictionary gives an extended coronation of what it is and isnāt, as compared to other, similar terms.
