It's because they want to talk to actual people and potentially kick off a discussion, instead of flatly asking A.I to do it for them.
Why are you on Reddit if you don't care about human interaction? You can just have your memes curated by meme pages on Instagram or A.I. There is no reason to be here other than the interaction with other people, even if it's just to read comments.
Also, no one is asking you personally to have to respond to these posts, you can just easily ignore the ones you think are pointless. I don't know what compels you people to feel the need to moderate and control what happens in this subreddit like these posts are nagging you (which is just a mental illness and not anything put upon by society or this webpage).
