People of Peshawarđ§ Early morning runners
Yesterday, I saw three guys in their 30s or early 40s running early in the morning here in Peshawar. I almost walk daily and see many people walking but the sight of these on their run made my day.
Saw an Instagram post about a Peshawar Running Club which is not active yet and a huge gym is also opening soon (don't know the location yet). Glad to see Peshawar getting more active.
Would love to join a walking or a running club.

Wait till they face problems from some people. Then they will quit running.

Only if they are running in shorts that right?

What's wrong with that?

Dude, the commenter said the ppl running would face problems, I said only if they wear shorts. Smart ppl will get it. You probably either havenât lived in Peshawar or a 15year old.

Well besides the obvious that wearing shorts is a crime here cz your legs can be seen and some people staring at u i don't really think there's anything else if there's then do enlighten me since only smart people will get it

Haha good one. Shorts that are long like pants might be acceptable though.

That is one major point. There could be other problems too. Dont forget stray dogs.

Iâm sure you donât include stray dogs in ppl right? Coz you specifically said some people. Hahaha

Yes I had to add animals. Though some people are worse than animals nowadays.

Wait running in shorts is a problem in Peshawar these days? Like 6 years ago when I working there I used to run in shorts, without any issues.

Yes, there will be objections, advices and bad looks not to forget misbehaviour/disrespect for whatever reason. If the shorts are a bit too short (above knees), that can put you in bigger problems.

Is it really necessary to run in shorts? I don't understand for running people use shorts...

Yes, you need proper clothes for running. You can run in shalwar kameez if you want but it is not very practical.
•

I am not saying you can go run in shalwar kameez... There is a trouser in market which you can buy yourself and run atleast it look decent. Short is not entertained in our society. Learn to proud your dresses.

No, trouser is not suitable for running. Pride should not be in dresses, it should be in achievements and character. Shalwar kameez is an ancient costume that is outdated in the modern world.

There will be a time, when underwear would be a fashion and shorts will be outdated, would you still like to wear underwear in public places?

I have been running and walking early morning for the past 4 years plus. In high summers I shift to late night runs however in normal weather it's in the morning.

I wish I could run too. I was schooled in Murree till 10th grade and we used to have morning run around pindi point roughly 3kms.
Shifting to Peshawar felt like going into cage. Even within the parks I cannot run as a woman. Fucking suffocating seeing myself go from athletic to trying to find ways to stay active.
