No, but, like, you see, everyone everywhere in the world is just going to use you and cast you aside when they're done. Or at least that's what I've read on Reddit.

Yeah, but if your barometer for friendship is that they show up to a group event when they’re not feeling mentally or emotionally up to it, you can hold that.

I may not have the bandwidth for a friend’s party, but if I miss it I will take that friend to lunch another day.

I will also keep one-on-one plans even when I’m not up to it. I wouldn’t want to leave a friend lonely.

But a party? Where they’ll have lots of people around to interact with? Yeah I’m not a bad friend for sitting that out if I need to keep it low key.

Fuck that, you are a bad friend for not coming to your friends party. Too many people think like this, your best friends are the people you want most at a party
