Lmao I'm 5'3" and I felt so bad for him. I'm like "Oh...brother, just break free from the shackles..." ðŸ˜
It's so much easier not to worry about it. Some will think "But what about how other people..." sshhhhh. You stop worrying about them too. That's the secret sauce.
That's what I was thinking. You can't change it (unless you want an expensive and long and painful surgery/recovery) so why do so much worrying about it? I guess cuz I'm a lesbian, I've never cared about dudes' heights but like IDC about anyone's height. You are just you & I have never wanted someone to be taller or shorter. I usually date girls around my size but I never like searched for that, it just happened & I never turned down anyone for being shorter or taller than me.
I see you man, and you can't even bring it up without being labelled as insecure. And hell even if you are insecure- I wonder how one gets that way? I can tell you that I was legitimately proud of my height (I genuinely thought it made me unique) until highschool when I was explicitly told I was desired less because of it.
This thread and societies general opinion on this is 'take the ridicule on the chin, overcome it, and NEVER bring it up or we will think even less of you'
Yeah well honestly I'm 5'6 so not even that short, so I didn't struggle too much, I had gfs and a normal experiences I think. But I really feel for guys even shorter than me because for some reason society thinks it's okay to openly discriminate against it and then bullshit us about it. It's the unnecessary bullshitting that irks me. Blaming men for a problem they didn't create is so pervasive, there's a whole lot of it in this thread.
People say "he's too short" without blinking, but someone saying "she's too overweight" would be met with shaming and accusations of superficiality. There's a double standard of what's acceptable even if everyone is being the same level of superficial.
I don't think people realise how often height is talked about, not a day goes by that height isn't referenced in some capacity. Even if it's body positivity, it's a reflection of how important it is to humans. So to then tell someone that being insecure is the issue is so cognitively dissonant.
I've always said my goal in life is to be funny enough that when someone describes me to others their first word isn't 'short'. If I succeed, I've accepted that it will be the next word anyway lol
I feel resilient, it was never something I felt defeated me. But the world reeeeally shoves it in your face while simultaneously telling you it's all in your head.
