As if the Iranian people needed another reason to want this terrorist regime to collapse.

They needed economic pain to protests. That's the goal to put pressure on the government to be unable to buy off another protest by trying to use oil revenue for short term gains

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 16h ago

The regime never “buys off” protests. They kill the unarmed civilian population in the streets and in their homes in response to nationwide protests.

u/Visible_Device7187 United States | آمریکا 16h ago

They absolutely buy off protests when it's economic they try to pay for people to fight for them, bring out government workers to support them, and more. They don't jump to mass killing of the population unless they secure enough support to survive the backlash. In January they paid lots of money to bring in foreign fighters, to bribe basiji, to lower fuel and do everything they could to get the economy working again just to buy off time. They know they can't use death all the time like January since it destroys industries and cities and causes major resentment even amongst their loyal supporters. They absolutely wouldn't be acting like this without a blockade in place

But that’s nowhere near the same thing as “buying off” the protests. The regime has been importing foreign Muslims for decades now to carry out its jihadi genocide against the Iranian people.

u/Full-Philosopher-772 Unspecified | معلوم نیست 13h ago

They don’t need to import anyone. They have native basijis and Irgc members.

Those foreign jihadis are literally groups that Iran created, pays and funds. And are under the IRGC.

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 12h ago

Much of the IRGC and basij corps are Afghans and Arabs.

u/Full-Philosopher-772 Unspecified | معلوم نیست 12h ago

You realize to be in the IRGC/Basij you have to be an Iranian? Foreigners don’t join it.

There are militias that Iran has created outside of Iran like Hezbollah in Lebanon whose fighters are Lebanese. But that isn’t the IRGC. The IRGC controls them.

So you could say Lebanon, an Arab state is under Iranian rule. As the Iranian militia there is stronger than the Lebanese army. And the areas in Lebanon where Hezbollah rules Lebanese army can’t enter.

Not only is Lebanon under Iranian rule, but Iran uses it as a sacrifice. 8,000 civilians have died there as a result of Iran having Hezbollah attack Israel.

Iran even bragged that at one point they controlled 4 Arab capitals. Thankfully that is not the case no more.

I’m guessing you’re not Iranian and don’t know how things are actually on the ground inside of Iran. I’m fully aware of the various Arab proxy terrorist groups, as most people are. Actual Iranians are refusing to genocide their own people, so the regime has had to import foreigners for many years now into the country to do the dirty work. And yes, some of the members of the IRGC and basij are foreigners, Afghans. In truth, most of this regime are foreigners or are ethnically Arab, i.e., not Iranian.

Can you name 5 members of the Iranian regime who are foreign Arabs ? You are making a claim - that the majority of the Iranian regime are foreign Arabs - which is entirely false.

Didn’t the command for the January massacres come from Khamanei and Larijani?

The command to put down the protests by any means possible came from them and the majority of the shooters were Iranian.

Next are you going to say the Iranians who revolted in 79 against the shah were also Arabs? And that the Iranians actually supported him but Arabs somehow kicked him out of the country? Even though the only country who allowed him to land was Egypt?

u/Full-Philosopher-772 Unspecified | معلوم نیست 8h ago

It doesn’t make sense for a regime to rely on foreigners to suppress protests.

Not the full article

Goudarzi also warned that Tehran had “many cards it has not yet played” and could retaliate if Iranian shipping is prevented from operating.

“Just as the era of hit-and-run attacks is over militarily, the same applies economically: if they hit us, they will be hit,” he said. “If Iranian ships are unable to transit, no ship will transit.”

Iranian shipping is prevented from operating for more than a month and we have been hearing about these cards they have for at least a few months.

We've been hearing about these cards since June 2025. They killed khameini and those closest to him and they still said "we haven't unveiled our super secrets yet, if the enemy continues its aggression we will I'm super serious this time!"

Their hidden cards are about as real as the hidden imam

u/Dark_World_Blues Kuwait | کویت 11h ago

LOL maybe they hid their cards to the point that they can't find them.

Working well

u/Visible_Device7187 United States | آمریکا 16h ago

Yes that's the goal with all sanctions force the population to become so upset they remove the current government. You don't do it because you want people to live happily under a government you want to remove. Iran is now finding out why being an asshole to other nations isn't wise when you can't keep your people fed and happy

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 16h ago

The Iranian people have not been fed nor happy for decades now. Iranians have risen up time and time again against these terrorists, only for the regime to slaughter them and for the Western countries to instead keep the regime on life support, because they profit from keeping Iran isolated from the rest of the world. If the West really wanted the regime gone, they would have finished the job months ago, or at least allowed Israel to do so.

u/Visible_Device7187 United States | آمریکا 16h ago

And how exactly does that work? You can't do civil war with handguns so dropping guns on people doesn't automatically get a free Iran. So how could Israel have overthrow the regime months ago?

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 16h ago

There is no civil war here. The people of Iran hate this terrorist regime, up to 95% of the country.

u/Visible_Device7187 United States | آمریکا 16h ago

Again how exactly would Israel end it immediately? And yes it's still a civil war even if a vast majority of the people hate the regime. If it wasn't a civil war they would have given up before firing on people in January. Assad was hated by millions but still had the military willing to kill on his behalf which made it civil war. You seem to miss that concept and assume everyone hates it so nobody will fight for IRCG which is just wrong as you can see

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 15h ago

The IRGC, the mullahs, the basij, and their families make up the 5-10% of the country, but they are the only ones with weapons. Iran is different from Syria, but I can see what you’re getting at. In truth, this has been a jihadi genocide by this regime of primarily foreign Muslims (Arabs and Afghans) against the Iranian people because we are not Muslim.

u/Next_Run7994 Unspecified | معلوم نیست 15h ago

I don't think it would be as easy as just dropping guns. But I do wonder if the various thugs out murdering people started facing real violence how they would react?

u/darsky49 Pahlavist | پهلویست 11h ago

Like all bullies, they would crumble like the cowards they are.

u/WillyNilly1997 United Kingdom | بریتانیا 16h ago

Israel could do so with or without Western endorsement. She does whatever is necessary for safeguarding national survival. Israel is not a puppet state of Uncle Sam.

This will only work to a certain extent. The last 5-10% of progress towards achieving total regime collapse can only be realized by physically removing this regime and specifically in Tehran.

u/technocraticnihilist Turkey | ترکیه 5h ago

Making Iranians suffer won't collapse the regime
