Hello everyone! I’m the executive manager for the HRM department’s upcoming Casino Night taking place on Friday, September 11th. I’m making this post to see if anyone would be interested in gaining some experience (or just have some fun) as a blackjack dealer with your own table at this year’s event.

No previous experience is required!! We will be holding three training sessions next week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the HRM building (we ask you at least attend one). At this time we are looking for hospitality students (major or minor), but if you are still interested, please reach out. Exceptions can be made if you’re willing to participate.

The gig is not paid (charity event) but hospitality students will earn a pathway credit as well as 10 work hours towards your degree (5-6 hours of actual work). It’s also a great way to get connected and make some friends along the way. Volunteer hours may be available for other students as well depending on your field of study.

Hiii! I’m close to the end of my Pell eligibility and my account has therefore been flagged for investigation for possible overpayment/end of my eligibility. I was unaware that none of my financial aid would be disbursed as the to do list task does not state that and in fact tells me there’s no actions needed to be taken by me. When I saw that my funds hadn’t been disbursed, I called the office and was met with a student worker who gave no care on helping me whatsoever. I expressed frustration about not being able to get books, etc and she just sat there not responding. I did get a little hateful because of her lack of response and customer service skills, however I did tell her I know it wasn’t her fault and I wasn’t meaning to be rude towards her, she didn’t offer any solutions or explanations other than I needed to wait. She told me I should have an answer by the following Thursday (the 27th, the Thursday after classes began) and when I saw there was no update that date I called again, this time I was met with more solutions but still the wrong info, and told that they had 15 business days to look into it, so the 15th business day according to her would have been yesterday because it was added to my account on 8.13, and she suggested signing up for a payment plan and making a payment to avoid late fees and it would be $1500 per payment according to my account balance, the other day I went to self enroll into one and it added $500-$600 to my account for the payment plan. I sent a response to the payment plan email I received inquiring about the timeline I was given by the second student worker and the fact that she quoted me $1500 that was based upon my account balance and why when I went to self enroll they somehow added $500-$600 EXTRA to my total bill, they did not answer that question directly. Yesterday, I called again because it was the 15th business day and at 5:30-6PM my time (Texas) there was no update. She had said since yesterday was the 15th day, I was probably just waiting on them to release my hold. She put me on hold, and then I was told because they “didn’t receive my financial aid funds until August 17th, that date started the 15 business days” and somehow that made my 15th business day today. Called again today because again, NO update and no financial aid has been disbursed. I was met with “well today is technically the 15th business day so they have until the end of the day so all I can do is put in a ticket for them to check Monday.”

MONDAY is a holiday??? Yall are working on a holiday?? Even so, why do I keep getting the run around???? You’re telling me it’s taking THIS long to put my information into a national database and get info from that?

Does anyone have some good songs for a playlist centered around late night walks?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice from anyone who has lived outside universaytiy or dealt with a similar situation in Flagstaff.

I lived in a 4 bed / 4 bath unit. My other roommates moved out before me, and I was the last person to move out of the apartment.

After I moved out, the apartment charged me over $2,000 for damages, including damages/cleaning related to the common areas.

My concern is that because I was the last person to move out, it seems like I’m being held responsible for damage to shared areas that were used by all four roommates. I don’t believe I should automatically be responsible for everything in the common areas just because I happened to move out last.

Has anyone here had a similar experience with me?

If so, were you able to dispute the charges or get them reduced? Did you contact the leasing office, corporate management, or get any legal/tenant assistance?

I’m especially interested in knowing what documentation I should request from them (inspection reports, photos, invoices, move-out records, etc.) before paying or disputing the charges.

I am able to get an internship with the company I work for but I haven't been employed for the correct length of time to the standards that NAU has. this might sound like an odd question, but what have been some remedies for you guys that have cured your chapped lips. ever since moving up here, my lips have been increasingly more chapped and it’s becoming very painful. i’ve applied aquaphor and chapstick everyday, but it seems like nothing is helping. is this something that can be adjusted to or can it go away on its own?
