My dad is trying to get Teams running for an interview later this week, and called me round because it wasn't working on his PC. No problem, I went and took a look. Basically, he can't get audio out of it. The speakers on his PC work with any other program, but I cannot get Teams to produce any audio. The settings are all aligned to the right (and only) speakers, Windows audio settings are all correct. I tried it with a set of headphones too, and nothing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app too, but nothing.

I've had a google around, and it feels like a common issue but I'm not finding any solutions. Does anyone have any ideas?

It's a Windows 11, consumer Teams instance. Slightly older hardware, an 8700K with 16GB DD4.

Teams has its OWN audio settings that do NOT confirm to the system audio settings. When you do a call, the audio settings should be checked within the teams app.

Yeah, I sorted those. It turned out, in the end, that everything was working except the “test your speakers and microphone” function. Frustrating to have a diagnostic tool straight up not work.
