Lineage core apps and Fossify aren't all that different. Neither has advanced control, HDR or AI photo features. You will be better off keeping the apps as they are.

im not limiting myself to fossify apps lowkey, just said them as an example ykykyk

You will get more features from Open Camera or Pixel camera. Depending how you balance privacy with functionality.

i can maybe have both the default camera app and open camera? i just like the gui of the default one. But what about the SMS app, phone app etc? are third party ones better?

The interanl ones have all the system privileges so they are inherently better but they migh miss some functionality like HDR for camera or RCS messages.

I was using Fossify phone, SMS and contacts before I switched to LineageOS. I just like them more

Most useful for me was the keyboard, the default AOSP one doesn't have CJK and clipboard history, changed to heliboad since it looks the same (material you colours)

The keyboard was also my first thought when I saw this post. I’m gonna throw Futo keyboard into the ring. It has pretty much every feature that I want and is completely disconnected from everything.

oh yeah no clipboard history is rough but for me the default keyboard is too nice to give up (even though i used heliboard on my s21)

I see no difference between the two, like at all?You get the same shape, font and colour of the keyboard but more settings

Well of you like it's fine, for me it didn't have things I 100% need
