Still remember the day when I was arguing with my mom to take this cat to our home ( she was my uncle's cat , they were relocating due to their job and their new apartment doesn't allow pets , so they were searching for someone who can adopt her). My mother was totally against bringing a pet to our house due to maintenance and in general orthodox beliefs( cat was a bad omen for her)

I cried and held her in my arms and refused to leave my uncle's house without her after a constant fight between me and my mother , my father took my side and agrees to my request to take her home.

Since that every single day I used to feed her ,play with her , sleep with her . In the beginning she was a bit hesitant due to the new environment and home . She used to cry at night and often refuses to eat in the beginning but soon after the love and care she became a part of our family more like my very own little sister ♥️.

And the most surprising part... My mother got so attached to her that she became the most possessive to her often debating with me about what is good or bad for her , what should we feed him .

She started watching how to take care of your cat kinda videos on yt ( me and my father were both shocked and amazed by this )

But today is the day we lost her after so much memories,love ,bond and what not , today is the day after which she won't be there to welcome me by sitting in front of the gate after I came from my college, from today there will be no one who would irritate my mother during her evening aarti , there will be no one to scratch my father's newly replaced scooty seat.

Hey everyone, I’m feeling pretty exhausted and heartbroken, and I really need some honest perspective from fellow cat parents.

About three months ago, my husband and I found a tiny, abandoned kitten at a hotel reception hall while attending a wedding. We couldn't leave him behind, so we brought him home, named him Zorn, and got him full veterinary care—he’s fully vaccinated, dewormed, and now neutered. He’s about 6 months old now, super high-energy, and very food-motivated.

The problem is the dynamic between him and our 6-year-old resident cat, Fluffy.

We’ve tried doing everything by the book when it comes to classic introduction methods.D spite all of this, the moment they have visual access or cross paths, things go downhill fast. Fluffy is terrified of his high-energy approach and immediately starts hissing/growling at him. Her running and defensive reaction instantly triggers Zorn's chase drive. His tail puffs up, he runs after her, and it turns into an active, screaming tussle where fur literally flies.

We tried keeping Zorn in his isolated room/mesh door setup to reset things, but he suffers from severe isolation anxiety—he cries endlessly and has even started stress-peeing outside his litter box when locked away, even though he's otherwise litter-trained.

It feels like we're trapped in a constant cycle of stress: Fluffy is living in fear/hiding, Zorn is hyper-aroused and frustrated, and our home feels like a war zone. We are extremely attached to Zorn and love him deeply, but seeing Fluffy so stressed and having to manage daily fights is taking a huge emotional toll on us.

We recently moved back to my hometown, where finding responsible, educated cat adopters isn't very easy, so rehoming feels like a daunting and scary last resort.

My questions for you guys:

Is this just a classic case of a 4-month-old high-energy kitten simply overwhelming a 6-year-old adult cat, and will it naturally settle as he matures?

Is there anything else we haven't tried (e.g., vet-prescribed calming meds like Gabapentin during introductions) that could realistically fix this?

Or are their fundamental personalities just incompatible, and the most compassionate thing for both cats would be to find Zorn a great home as an only cat?

Would appreciate any insight, harsh truths, or advice from anyone who has been in a similar spot. Thank you so much.

Just wanted to give everyone an update on our little girl.

She is doing better now. We took her for regular vet visits, and the vet has now prescribed oral antibiotics for 10 days. Thankfully, there is no pus coming from her wounds now. The wounds are still wet and healing, so we are continuing her daily dressing and care at home.

She is still paralyzed in her hind legs, but she has shown some small improvements, including standing on her own for a few seconds. We are taking things one day at a time and hoping she continues to improve.

And we have some unexpected good news!

Another stray cat gave birth to 3 tiny kittens in our house! ❤️We’re making sure the mother and her babies are safe and comfortable.

We currently kept him in a bedroom, since he has fleas and we already have a recently adopted adult cat. He is continuously meowing like in the video, if not patted and sitting down, so he can sleep on lap. And we have to sit with him for this long time nor he is letting us sleep at night. It seems he is very unsettled and missing his littermates or mother maybe. We found him in a reserved forest area with his littermate and dogs. Although we didnt find his mother anywhere. So we are thinking should we return him to his environment where we found him.

Update: We found his caretaker, he was out that day. This kitten is 2 months old, has no littermate and rescued when his mother died after giving birth. He is used to being alone and sleep away on his own space. Also he is a fighter, how he managed to fight his health issues without his mother. Now the kitten is making progress today, yesterday he had diarrhea, today is a progress, sleeping on the warm pad taking 1-1 hr naps, was dehydrated its better now. Though he is only seeping water with food in it. Crying less than yesterday but still we don't know why he is still crying after giving food too. Due to his diarrhea situation and food change, we dont want to load him more.
Also we are going to change the vet now, she doesn't seem to be much helping, when being completely clueless to animal care. But a bad news is he is not interested in touch now. No sleeping in my palms, no pats, only food and scratches🥺

I went there today to give Bambi some food, and you will NOT believe what happened. He was literally standing there waiting for me. 🥹

When he saw me, he was scared at first, but then he came towards me and jumped onto my shoulder. He started playing with my shoulder and my hair, and honestly, I was so happy to see him like that. 😭❤️

I opened the cat food pouch and let him smell it. He didn’t eat at first, but there was another orange female cat nearby. She came over and started eating the kitten food, and I think Bambi saw her and understood that it was food because he eventually started eating on his own too. 🥹

I also gave him his medicine.

And now I need a little help from you guys. Someone has agreed to foster Bambi until he gets adopted, which is honestly such a relief. I’ll still need to help with his food and other basic things while he’s being fostered, so any support would mean a lot.

We’re planning to go to Qutub Metro Station today to drop Bambi off with the foster person. I’m just hoping someone can help me with the cab fare. As you all know, I’m basically a broke teenager with no money 😭 and I’ve already spent whatever I had on Bambi’s food and medicine.

This is the stray puppy, poor baby was still scratching and itching. His mother was still with him. Someone kind lady from my city was willing to help and said she will give medicine for infection. Someone from one rescue center will come in 2-3 days to treat both of them. She said she will come with all other medications, I would have to buy deworming for the puppy. I will need help to buy that.

I went there today to give him his food and his second dose of medicine, but when I arrived, I couldn’t find him. I later found out that he had gone into someone’s parking area and somehow got inside a car. I have no idea how he managed to get in.

I stayed there for almost an hour, trying to call him out. Just when I was about to leave, I finally saw him come out. I immediately took him, gave him his medicine, and tried to feed him.

He was not eating on his own, so I had to feed him a little through a syringe. He did manage to eat a small amount. I couldn’t record everything at first because I was alone and was focused on getting him out safely. My sister came later and recorded this video.

I wasn’t able to take him to the temporary caretaker today because of some issues, so I will be taking him there tomorrow.

Someone has agreed to take this kitten in temporarily and care for him until he gets adopted. I’m really hoping things work out for him.

I never knew he was doing that , he would always make this choking sound once in a while like something is stuck in his throat I asked the vet he says it's just fur probably. But today I saw him eat the cotton 😭😭😭 I've texted the vet but why eat cotton 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

So, this morning, a stray cat got into our house when my mum opened the door. The cat immediately ran inside and somehow made her way onto the balcony. Now she’s hiding behind this cupboard in a really sneaky spot.

We want to get her out, but we’re not sure how. We tried gently pushing her, but she’s clinging on really hard, so we didn’t want to use too much force and accidentally hurt her. The balcony is also on the first floor, so we’re worried she might fall if she panics.

She might be pregnant too? 🫪 I’m not completely sure.

The weirdest thing is that she hasn’t meowed even once. 😂 She’s just been completely silent and hiding.

She got in around 8 AM, and it’s now 4:40 PM, and as far as we know, she hasn’t had any water, milk, or food.

My mum really wants to tie her up and release her outside, but that feels pretty cruel to me, and I really don’t want her to get hurt. We don’t have plans to keep her as a pet, so we do eventually need to let her back outside — we just can’t figure out how to safely get her out from behind the cupboard.

What should we do? Any suggestions? I really don’t want to scare or hurt her.

Hi everyone, I really didn't want to ask for financial help, but I'm honestly overwhelmed, out of funds, and running out of time.

A little while ago, a stray momma cat tragically passed away after falling into a deep drain near my place, leaving behind five tiny, helpless kittens. I couldn't just leave them to fend for themselves, so I took all five in. By some miracle, I managed to scrape all of my savings and give two of them them up to the shelter (proof attached) almost immediately. Because I didn't want to keep the remaining three locked up, they accidentally got out. My heart absolutely broke, but thankfully, two of them have finally found their way back to me.

To keep them from wandering off again and getting hurt, I've had to keep these last two in cages for now. Since rescuing them, I've spent around 5.6k out of my own pocket on their food, medicines, tick and flea treatments, and multiple vet visits to make sure they are healthy. I am a college student living in a PG, so that completely drained my small budget-but I am not asking to get that money back.

Here is why I desperately need your help: I am leaving for my hometown this Thursday. I cannot keep them in my PG, and I cannot bear the thought of putting them back out on the street after all they've been through. And it's a small town I don't know enough people here...

I didn't get anyone that could adopt these babies so the shelter is the only option for now. But they charge an admission fee of 2k for each cat. I just don't have the 4k needed to get them safely surrendered, and I only have until Thrusday to figure this out.

If anyone could spare even a tiny amount to help me cover their shelter fees, I would be forever grateful. It breaks my heart to ask, but getting them into this shelter is their only safe option right now.

We went for a follow-up with Vet on 6th September.

For now, the vet has stopped the IV saline and 5 types of injections and shifted Luna to oral medication for the next 28 days. We have been asked to give an update again after 7 days, of her condition doesn't improve, then we have to again opt for Injecions.

Luna now has 7 different oral medicines, which need to be given morning and night for 28 days.

Giving her medication has become extremely difficult. Previously, for the injections, we needed 4 people just to hold her and administer them. Now, even for the oral medicines, we need 2 people to hold her because she struggles so much.

The only noticeable improvement over these past 4 days has been her strength, which improved after the saline and injections.

However, her disease and breathing distress are still present. Since we have now started the oral medicines, she has again started eating less, possibly because of the stress and difficulty of giving her so many medicines.

Honestly, we don't know how long this treatment journey is going to continue. The treatment is also becoming increasingly expensive, and we are physically and emotionally exhausted and extremely worried about Luna.

💔 FUNDRAISING UPDATE

We have already spent around ₹21,000 from August till 4 September on Luna's treatment, including consultations, tests, medicines, injections and IV treatment.

We are completely out of funds, and her treatment is still ongoing.

She has 28 days of oral medication ahead of her, along with follow-up consultations and potentially further treatment depending on how she responds.

Our current fundraising goal is ₹10,000 to help us continue her treatment.
