I got this baby from Petco a while back and had a small toe problem that the vet declared birth defect and I finally moved him to a tank from a tub setup and his tail is like this any thoughts? Keep fresh Pangea fig and insect or breeding and growth powder mix every day or other day.

I think she wanted to test the consistency, or what do you think? 🙈

I’ve been in the process of setting up a tank for a gargoyle gecko, I have a humidity gauge and it seems to always be around the high 90s when the tank doors are closed (around 50 when they are open), how do I make my tank less humid? I read that it should be between 70 and peak around 80. I’ve never owned reptiles before so I’m trying my best to make sure stuff like this is right :) thank you

So I understand that they like room temperature, but is there a temperature control apparatus I can use to make sure the tank stays at 70-80 degrees? Because the people I live with would (completely understandably) not be Ok with heat/Ac running all the time to keep the house at room temperature. Any advice appreciated.

I feel like im finally relatively happy with how it’s looking but wanted extra thoughts and opinions!

It’s an 18x24x36. I’ve currently got a 24 watt Arcadia LumenIZE LED and when im ready to move my guy into this tank, I’ll move his UVB with him.

I’ve got dwarf white isopods and white springtails. The springtails are absolutely thriving. Harder to tell how well the springtails are doing since it’s kinda hard for me to differentiate them

I do have some sort of mites? Grain or soil mites? Can’t get any photos of them. They’re about the size of the springtails but brown. Are those okay/safe?

Also any tips on what to fill the built in rock hide with? Photo of hide in the second photo. Is it dirt okay? Or is moss better? I assume that will most likely be his main sleeping spot but honestly who knows cause he loves sleeping on the ground in his current cage instead of his ledges and hides.

I own quite a few different powder diet formulas. I only have the brands Pangea and Repashy, but different flavors of each.

For Pangea, I have the purple bag (fig and insects) and the red bag (?? “With insects” ??).

For Repashy, I have the two pictured (classic “complete gecko” formula, cherry bomb formula), as well as two others (pineapple express formula and grubs and fruit formula).

Her favorite, by far, is the purple Pangea fig and insect flavor. When I feed it to her, she eats the entire cup (.5 oz cups). None of the other flavors even come close. The second “favorites” would be the red Pangea bag, and the original Repashy as well as the grubs and fruit Repashy. But she will only eat at most 1/2 the cup when I offer those. The pineapple and cherry Repashy are basically garbage to her and she will maybe lick them or at most eat 1/4 of the cup, but that’s rare. Which is sad because I was excited to get them (I guess I was projecting onto her because I was like, if I was a gargoyle gecko, I would love cherry and pineapple food. lol.)

Because I have all these foods, and I don’t want the ones she doesn’t like as much to go to waste but at the same time want her to eat enough, I will mix a small amount of the less desirable foods in with her beloved purple Fig and Insect Pangea. Even when mixed she generally doesn’t like it as much and won’t finish an entire cup when mixed, but usually eats 3/4 or so of the cup.

Sad thing is, I have a HUGE bag of the red Pangea, and an unopened huge bag of it as well (I accidentally added it to auto ship and didn’t realize until it already came in the mail a second time).

What are you guys feeding for powdered diets? Anyone else have a picky gecko?

What happened at 2am... Slipped and fell off the branch, or stopped breathing and fainted?

I turned a 24x24x48 reptibreeze into an enclosure for my 1 year old garg. I used acrylic sheets on 2.5 and half the top of the screen so it can hold in humidity, my room is already 50% humidity cuz of Florida. I added 3 tall plants with climbing things in the middle of them, and one 20 foot vine sprawled out in there, and I cut holes in 2 of the pots on the bottom for hides and I have about 2 inches topsoil and 2-3 inches of moss on top, there’s 4 thick sticks diagonally in there for climbing routes. It’s not close to done yet this is just the start and i definitely need to re arrange it to make the most out of the open space. He was in a 18x18x18 so this is a massive upgrade.

Hey all, I got my juvenile garg a couple weeks ago and have him in a temporary 12x12x18 tank while he grows. When he's ready, I'll move him into a larger 24x18x36 tank I have on standby. I pulled the UVB bulb I had on top of the large tank and set it directly on top of the mesh for the smaller tank. It's a Shadedweller kit with a 8W/7% bulb. He tends to mostly be underneath foliage throughout the day, but he does sometimes like to perch up high in the mornings, which freaks me out a bit considering how close he gets to the bulb. Is the proximity here cutting it too close? Should I find a way to raise this bulb up a few inches? Or just swap it entirely with a standard tank light?

I've spent the last month+ building what I hope is a dream home for my 16 month old female Garg. I followed all the advise I could find here and on linked youtube channels to build a 24"x18"x36" bioactive enclosure. I included:

- A slow flow waterfall and false stream bed

- A moss covered hiding cave to mimic the coconut she lives under today

- Lots of vertical and horizontal climbing and basking spots

- A mid level fogger (that I limit to 30min a day to try and keep humidity down

- A dawn/day/dusk/night cycle RGB LED light strip

- A timed intensity UVA/UVB LED light strip

-A movable food/water holding ledge that I can start low to the ground and raise as she acclimates

Live plants were added 3 weeks ago

Springtails and Isopods were added 2 weeks ago

Am I missing anything critical or can I move her in this weekend? Any final words of advice or warning?

Hey guys, since Monday, my gecko has not been seen. She got out while I was out of town for the day through a small vent that must have knocked loose. I’ve checked high and low, food on top of my cabinets and in other spots, few water cups throughout the apartment as well. I have heard NO SIGNS of her. I have a dog as well and he’s very calm but he’s very aware. I have been trying to observe him for weird behavior, but he doesn’t seem to sense her. I don’t know what else to do :(( I feel like such a bad gecko owner I don’t even know how she managed to knock it open. I just hope she’s okay. My apartment stays between 70-78 constantly. The humidity of the room stays from 40%-60%.

Someone was invested in the tv show I was watching. I always look in her cage before I go to bed and I found my girl watching with me😂

Hello! I’m a little worried about my gecko (named Kev), who is 8 months old. I’m not sure if he’s underweight or not. He’s eating well as long as the food is placed right in front of him (he’s a little stupid). But since 3-4 days he hasn’t been eating. Yesterday he finally ate again, but only a little bit. I thought maybe he just didn’t ate because he was shedding, but I’m not sure. Can anyone tell me if he’s underweight or not?

I have had my little guy for about 3 weeks now and he is just starting to get comfortable eating his paste. I want to start feeding him some live bugs soon but I don’t know what the best way is. Should I be tong feeding? Leaving some in an escape proof dish? I don’t want to let them run around the tank because it isn’t bioactive and the substrate is coconut husk and they could hide very easily. Any advice?

Did a wellness check as the temp was climbing and Zinthos was nice and fired up.

I’m looking to get a gargoyle gecko sometime in the future, and people have been saying that they should be treated with a few crickets every other week. How do I store them if I don’t want to breed them?
