I hardly watch movies anymore because they’re all so predictable and repetitive with the same scripts, plots, character types, film style, coloring, etc. The dialogue in most movies is usually unbearably predictable. Watching movies from the 80s, 90s, and anything up is genuinely difficult because it’s like I just know exactly what they’re gonna say and exactly what’s gonna happen! It is soooo rare for me to find a movie that actually surprises me anymore.

It seems like every. Single. Movie. Follows the same progression. A character does or says something and the EXACT opposite of what they THINK will happen, happens. It’s absurd. Anyone else?? And if anyone has any recommendations for movies they think will surprise me, please let me know

ngl i feel like my brain just has bad wifi. i walk into the kitchen and my internal quest log just clears itself. then i have to go back to the couch and reset my position just to remember i wanted a glass of water. it’s actually embarrassing.

I'm not sure if everyone is like this, but I often just listen to the same songs over and over and over for months without getting bored of them, maybe even a year. Sometimes I'll listen to a song on repeat like 5 or more times. It gets to the point where I start playing the song in my head and I even start analyzing the lyrics and every instrument played in them. Even my brother keeps asking me why I keep listening to the same songs.

When I was a teenager, everything hit. Smoking, drinking, eating, watching movies, music, sex, driving around. Even just hanging out doing absolutely nothing felt exciting because everything still felt new.

Now I can eat my favorite food, watch a great movie, drink, smoke, buy something I wanted, and my brain is still just static. Then I'm bored again.

It feels like adulthood is just endlessly trying to recreate 10% of the excitement you used to get from normal life.

DAE feel this way? Does getting older just make everything less exciting, or did we overstimulate ourselves so much that nothing hits anymore?

My mother has had this one potato peeler for over 45 years and it’s literally the best peeler I’ve ever used . The new ones are just awful imo . She also has a kitchen aide mixer that is still going strong despite being a solid 50+ years old .

As in, the craving is for the texture, not for foods that happen to be chewy. Sometimes I'm not even particularly hungry at all Dried pineapple and beef jerky usually satisfy the craving but many times I don't have these on hand and nothing quite scratches the itch.

For example, I like the color of a blue smartphone/case over a black smartphone/case, but I don't want a blue border around the screen (I find it distracting, unlike how black seamlessly blends in).

Like i discovered I can crack my whole body randomly

3 years ago for some inexplicable reason I was possessed to go to Disneyland in 40 Celsius sunny day. I am a naturally very pale person, as in almost paper white, so I was wearing long sleeves and pants to protect from the sun. Anyways, as soon as I got there with my friend, I was sweating profusely and absolutely drenched and a mess, and there was NO FUCKING ESCAPE from the sunlight. It was so hot and disgusting, and thankfully we were able to get fast passes. WHCIH ARE A TERRIBLE DEAL but I genuinely don’t know how i would’ve survived without them. I’ve heard some people standing in the regular line say they waited 3 hours for each ride and only went to around 3 rides that day which is wild to me.

I can’t imagine how awful it is without a fast pass to line up for 3 hours for a 3 minute ride. To suffer in that heat and sun. I felt faint and nauseas and I was so close to a heat stroke. I genuinely hate sunlight and that kind of heat so much. I was influenced to go to Disneyland for the experience and to this day I still regret every moment and dollar I spent on that place. This coming from someone who loves Disney movies and stuff too. I can’t fathom how anybody would willingly go in the summer. I’ve just accepted that some things I’d rather not experience like that kind of insane heat and sun.

When I'm watching a movie I don't find myself catching many little details and themes. Plot holes and minor bad storytelling moments also go over my head. It's like my brain completely turns off (in a good way i guess?).. There are obviously exceptions

This makes watching decent movies so much easier without feeling the need to nitpick or take me out of it via plot holes. I know this because I'll hop on Reddit discussions after watching the movie and everyone is discussing every detail like foreshadowing, the overall theme of the movie and what it's trying to convey, and other little fun details the writers sprinkled in... or they're complaining about the obvious idiotic decisions and extra details to think about.

Then afterwards I'm like "I never would've thought of that" or "What the fuck are they talking about?". This is pretty much every movie or show to be honest, with varying levels of it. I will say this does make movies enjoyable, and I typically rate movies by overall boredom or emotion levels.

I just sink into my seat and let the story smack me in the face. This is not really related but listening to music is the complete opposite of this.

Sometimes something happens that isn’t a crisis or a problem I need help solving, but I still feel like telling someone about it. Once I’ve said it, though, I don’t always want advice or a long back-and-forth. I just wanted someone else to know it happened. DAE get this feeling?

I feel really UNCOMFORTABLE whenever my family says sorry to me, shows me affection suddenly? and i get mad when they hug me. Its usually after a fight too, and i just feel really awkward and uncomfortable afterwards and i distance myself from them and i try hard to get rid of their touch. Idk why

Specifically after a personal party, in this case my kids. We put so much work into it, there was excitement for weeks leading up to it, and in just a few hours it’s over 😭😭😭

Now I have to clean up, and cleaning up the evidence of a party always makes me a little sad

Even though I have never been in a relationship, but whenever I read novels or mangas where FMC cheats on MC or sometimes vice versa, my body goes into a fight or flight kind of mode where my heart beat deepens, my hands and feet get cold, it feels like my chest is collapsing, and my mood goes down for the next few days. But this never happens when I read real stories of people being cheated on.

Even tho im always excited to get them i find myself almost doing anything just to not see that notification pop up lmao

This is possibly one of the weirdest post Im going to post on here but it is something I’ve observed very well and I want to get it off my chest

I’m someone who has always been very confident ,always been very social , I always do my best to help other people especially in something I’ve experience with, at 14 I went through a very unforgettable sets of experiences that I’m surprised I made it

For a very long time I isolated myself from people and it affected my confidence, after that it has been difficult for me to feel complete but I began working on myself, I’m not 100% at where I want to be but I’m about 86%

my lack of confidence though did not changed me as a person .it changed how others treated me, but I noticed people don’t like when I’m confident, even my own closed ones, like my father even my ex,

my relationship with him was one of the healthiest I had in very long time but some weird comments I still remember when id feel beautiful he’d say

I look too high of myself and I noticed he’d visibly try to crash my confidence , this has happened many times now with many people, what is this?

Whenever new slang becomes popular and suddenly everyone is using it, I wonder whether people feel self-conscious about adding a word they’ve never used before. Are you consciously making yourself use it until it feels natural, or does it just slip into your vocabulary?

Even when I like a new slang term, hearing my friends over 30 use it as though they’ve always said it makes me cringe a little. I’m not judging them for being “too old” to use slang, it’s the sudden switch that feels strange to me. Does anyone else notice this?
