Original Series Davis was late to his globaphobia group

Post image
Upvotes

Did you ever notice in S02E04 that Davis said he’d pick up Lacey at 7:30 to go to the city for the globaphobia group, but when they get there the scheduled time was 7:00? Was he just nervous and gave the wrong time? Did they miss the meeting or did he realize his error in time and tell her the right time off camera? It looked like they went to Regina which is about 45 minutes away.

So... in the absence of a confirmation, who do you believe is Tanner's father?

Upvotes

Do you believe that it's Hank? And if yes, do you believe that he knows or is oblivious?

And if it isn't Hank, do you believe it's someone who lives in Dog River, or someone else entirely?

I know the poor guy had more things to worry about, but shouldn't he have had the doors on the filing cabinets facing him so he could put stuff in the drawers.

Today I made Oscar! I found the perfect torso for him, so I just had to design the face. I gave him the Clavet Cup for his accessory!

You bet the farm on the game?

No I'm just bad at business.

Underrated joke. Made me chuckle this morning.

Atim Sipiy = River of the Dog

Upvotes

Watching Rock On! Paul tells Lacey that the Cree name for the area was Atim Sipiy and Lacey correctly guesses that it means River of the Dog. I decided to look it up and yep, it does.

Hiccups or Dan for Mayor - which one did you like more?

Three Corner Gas alums released two different shows in 2010 on the same day. Hiccups stars Nancy Robertson and Brent Butt as a temperamental children's author and her happy-go-lucky life coach, respectively. Meanwhile, in Dan for Mayor, Fred Ewanuick plays an ordinary schlub who talks his way into becoming a candidate in his hometown's mayoral race.

Both shows lasted just two seasons, to mixed reviews, but I'm curious which one you preferred (assuming you watched them both).

Thanks Brent

I don't often make posts, but my family is just coming through a bit of a tougher time (and we love TV), so we decided on Corner Gas.

It really helped. Its so cozy. I would (and do) recommend it to anyone.

Thank you Corner Gas for your service.

P.S.

I have a theory that Wanda is very smart in real life, there were a lot of 'thinker' jokes for her. Go Wanda!

Original Series Are there scenes that combines all 3 sidestories?

Upvotes

Most Corner Gas episodes have 3 sidestories which are generally separate from each other. I remember lots of scenes that combine 2 sidestories, but is there anything that combines all 3?

Also as a side note, I've always loved how creative the writing is with these types of scenes.

Media It blew my mind when I realized that Lorne Cardinal and Eric Peterson were both in 'Canada: A People's History'

Post image
Upvotes

For those who don't know, Canada: A People's History was a prestigious CBC documentary series which was meant to educate people on the history of Canada. They would show clips of it to us in school, and then I used to catch whole episodes on TVO when I was a kid. It did a lot to spark my interest in the subject of history. I'll be the first to say that it is not without flaws, but I will always defend it as, if nothing else, a great introduction to the history of Canada, and an interesting time capsule for how Canada viewed its own history in the early 2000s. It might be my nostalgia, but the recreations, the archive footage, the music, and the performances still manage to move me emotionally as I watch it.

Lorne Cardinal appeared in several episodes. He was only onscreen for the fifth episode, where he plays the Shawnee leader Tecumseh. He also did voice-overs for later episodes, where he represented men like Chief Poundmaker and WWI soldier Mike Mountain Horse. For his part, Eric Peterson was in two episodes as Prime Minister William Lyon Mackenzie King. Both do fantastic work, speaking words which were either written or spoken verbatim by the historical figures that they're portraying.

Original Series One of my all-time favourite celeb cameos

Davis calling up Kiefer Sutherland in "Final Countdown" was a stroke of genius. And instead of playing a character, or even parodying one of his own characters, Kiefer is playing a spoof of himself. For some reason, that makes the scene even funnier to me.
