I know it's still just in the festival circuit so the majority of fans haven't had a chance to see it, so discussion threads on this subreddit might be a bit premature, but I finally saw it last night and am dying to talk about it with any other lucky individuals who also saw it!

Watched the series countless times and just caught a great visual joke.
Jay tells Matt he wants to have a video game day because he’s sick, and Matt says “your mother was right about you” before he sets down three bananas. Just like Jay’s flashback in the wish episode.
Such a funny blink and you miss it callback. There’s always more to find with the boys.

Imo one of the smartest changes in the move from the web series to the VICE series is Jay getting rid of his edginess to play more of a straight man to Matt, and I think it’s really a testament to his performance given how edgy he’d get in the webseries
It feels like a calculated and smart choice that gives the VICE series a better dynamic and palatable balance than the webseries

During the Q&A portion of Matt's Fantasia Fest panel this year, someone in the audience brought up this music video Matt directed a few years ago, and I wanted to share it here, because as a big fan of Operation Avalanche, I've always found these little VFX magic tricks so fascinating.
The Zapruder crew essentially got permission to use all the historic ONF/NFB footage of Montréal's Expo 67 to make this video, splicing the band members into the historical footage the same way the team did for the Kubrick scenes in Operation Avalanche.
Not only is the video impressive on an editing and VFX level, but I love seening all this Expo 67 footage I never saw before. Really beautiful stuff!

One of my favorite bits throughout the series is whenever Matt (or Jay? I feel like it’s usually always Matt) ends up going on some sort of silly tangent completely off-topic from the conversation at hand (the most recent one coming to mind is in Joel Haver’s video where he just starts talking about w and Ted). What are some of your favorite quotes or moments like that from throughout the series?

Does anyone have any screenshots of Matt’s drawings on the whiteboard from either the movie or the show? Can’t find any good ones and I know some of you guys have got to have them

For an end of Summer promo, all regular Cineplex tickets are $5 for today and tomorrow. Also $5 popcorn. A good excuse to go catch Tony if you haven't yet! I just booked a ticket for a screening tonight and I was happy to see the theatre is mostly full!
EDIT: for non-Canadians, Cineplex is our biggest movie chain 🇨🇦

This is kind of inane but I can’t help but notice this same weird bird call sound throughout several of the Zapruder movies. Most obvious is in the beginning of both CN Tower scenes in NTBTSTM, but also faintly in the scene where Bird is sneaking out of the house.
Also heard it in Blackberry in one of the earlier scenes at the RIM office I believe. I thought maybe this was just a weird Toronto area bird that I’m not used to hearing in the Pacific Northwest, but I heard the exact same sound in Tony used as a seagull in one of the earlier scenes.
Are there more instances of this I’ve missed? Also have they ever acknowledged this?

A random thing I've been thinking about a lot today (lol) was how perfect of an outro song Army is for a show like Nirvanna the Band. I don't know what it is, but I feel like it does a great job of capturing the underlying spirit of the show, like a certain undercurrent of melancholy the show has. Does anybody else have any thoughts about this? This might sound insane, I know.

i thought it was awesome, the hype I saw of it from ntb twitter is real
