Canceled after a year in their portal (well clear of their 6 month contract). They continued to bill me for 4 months until I caught on. Contacting them is also impossible. Had to get a new credit card to get them to stop.

Laundry What’s your favorite laundry scent?

Upvotes

Hi! I’m a stay-at-home mom of 7, ranging from toddlers to adults, so keeping laundry smelling fresh is a big deal in our house. Between potty accidents, body odor, insecure high schoolers, and everyday messes, scent really matters here.

We’ve been using Tyler Candle Company Diva, and most of the family likes the scent. Recently, though, I’ve been seeing a lot about Laundry Sauce and I’m curious if it’s actually worth buying.

Has anyone tried it? What’s your favorite go-to laundry detergent or laundry product when scent is your top priority? I’d love some recommendations! 🫶🏻

General Cleaning Am I cooked? Tried cleaning vomit out of carpet and ended up "bleaching" it

Thumbnail

Upvotes

My dog puked on my carpet the other night so I did the following:

Scraped up bulk of it

Laid and packed baking soda into carpet

Poured vinegar over it to lift out extra gunk

Patted/swept away foam

Applied a small amount of oxi clean stain remover

Applied a couple hits of resolve urine remover formula

Patted dry

Tried to let air dry and vacuum but then felt like it wasn't drying very efficiently, so I scrubbed the remaining surface with a light soap and water solution to try and get the chemicals out and hit it with a fan

Vacuumed.

Then this afternoon the carpet turned noticeably lighter than the surrounding area. Really hoping to not void my security deposit but I'm afraid somewhere along the line I "did too much." My first guess is the peroxide in the "urine stain remover." It is known to lighten things. It is frustrating since the bottle says you can use it for vomit, amd that you can use it in carpets.

What went wrong here? Is there anything I can do to fix this? I thought about re-dying it very precisely or lightening the rest of the carpet to make it blend in 😅

General Cleaning Dog stuffing everywhere

Upvotes

Hi! I live in a house with 4 dogs, and stuffing from toys ends up everywhere. We use a Dyson vacuum which can’t really pick up the larger stuffing. Other than manually picking up each piece is there any tips or tricks to getting the stuffing? A tool I don’t know about?

General Cleaning How to clean unfinished wood after rodenticide exposure

Post image
Upvotes

My husband has a clothing drawer full of stuff he only uses seasonally. He went to organize it today, and discovered a rodent has been stealing the neighbor’s rodenticide and stashing it in his drawer?!

He had already cleaned out 80% or more of the pellets before I got this picture. We have no idea how long it’s been in there. The pellets were throughout the clothing, so he opted to throw the clothes away.

How do we clean this porous wood to make it safe for future clothing storage again? 😱☠️

Laundry Should I wash my sheets after being at a crowded public event?

Upvotes

I was standing at a public event with lots of people around. I was wearing long sleeves and long pants, but my hair was uncovered.

After I got home, I wanted to lie on my couch and eventually sleep in my bed. Do I need to consider myself dirty from the event, or wash my clothes/hair before using my couch? And should I wash my sheets because I was at the event?

Furniture Oak Wood Dining Table - what is this and how do I get it out?

I AM REFERRING TO THE GREEN COLOR

We have a dining room table that is solid Oak. We have a two year old that eats near this area. What could it be? (Not markers) - the only possible explanation I can think of is us washing his high chair plate and maybe don’t dry it all the way through when putting it back but doubt it could cause this.

We’ve tried dawn soap, general cleaner, magic eraser, as well as warm water and vinegar. Nothing!!

Discussion Am I blind? Why can’t I see messes others seem too

Upvotes

I seem to be cleaning blind.

Now I don’t mean clutter blind. (I can stand to live in some messy environments but that’s mostly from being homeless so many times)

I’m talking about a smaller thing that consistently seems to happen. I can’t seem to see small messes, like example : people asking me to sweep. I do so and then I’m being asked to do it again.

It’s to the point where I sweep 3 times cause I know I can’t seem to see when it’s actually clean so I’ll just do the job 3 times and hope.

This happens enough to be a pattern and it’s frustrating.

Any ideas or advice?

Bathroom I dyed my hair at home and now the handle to my bathtub is stained.

Does anyone know what would help get it off? I’ve used normal bathroom wipes, which got hair dye off the actual bathtub, and spray that had ‘active oxygen’ in it (idk it’s just what it said on the bottle) but nothing. Does anyone have any tips? Thx in advance.

General Cleaning Reducing spiders in my space - looking for suggestions

Upvotes

I’ve recently moved into a rental suite, it’s a detached above ground bachelor suite beside the landlords house. It’s fully newish-ly renovated/insulated with full amenities as a legal suite, however it may have previously been a shed/work shop considering the location. I have a fear of spiders and my one concern since living here is the spiders, it’s mainly been the house-spider thin daddy long leg type which I can tolerate, however it still gives me chills 😭. I deep cleaned the place when I moved in, and did another deep clean on the bathroom this week. I’ve started spraying peppermint oil spray in corners/door-window sills. I’ve been mindful of garbage and leaving food out to prevent bugs which I haven’t noticed any at all. I don’t leave door open and rarely crack the windows. I have noticed when I leave my wet clothes or towels to dry they take long time to dry, and in reading other posts I’m considering getting a dehumidifier to reduce the moisture here. I leave the fan on in the bathroom for a bit after I shower to try and help. I also vacuum very frequently. I know I need the exposure therapy to reduce my fear but I’m looking for suggestions of any other tips I can do to reduce critters here. TIA!

Kitchen Washing Dishes with only one sink

Upvotes

Hey!
I only have one sink, but everywhere I read that I should rinse my dishes after washing them.

Does anyone have tips how to deal with that? I know I could first wash everything and then rinse it all, but I just wanted to see if anyone got some tips or weird ideas :D

Edit: And rinsing every dish after washing it seems a bit wasteful of water. But maybe I'm worrying too much.

Discussion Toilet bowl cleaner recipes?

Upvotes

hello, i have struggled to find toilet bowl cleaners that are cruelty free (its very important to me) and im thinking maybe making it myself is easier but i cant find any recipes i trust or that arent being used on an already clean toilet as "proof it works". im asking for either recommendations on recipes or brands that dont test on animals (preferably if they arent also owned by a parent company that tests on animals) thank you in advance :)
