Bathroom Has anyone used the method daily shower spray?

Post image

I’ve heard this method daily shower spray is good for keeping up with your shower in between cleans. Is this true? If you’ve used it, do you find it worth it?

I’ve heard you don’t have to wipe, just spray. Pretty cool.

What laundry soap/process do you use? Do you use lotion or perfume or cologne? How do you smell like body wash all day?
Some people I’ve come across smell soooo damn good! I want people to say that about me! (Not that I stink I just want to noticeably smell good at all times)

General Cleaning Get rid of sweaty/oily teenage boy smell from bedroom

Upvotes

We recently purchased a home where one of the bedrooms was occupied by a boy who masked the room in axe body spray and sweat. We didn’t think much of it at the time since we had the house deep cleaned, put in new carpeting in the bedroom (on top of hardwood) and painted the whole interior…well now I’m realizing the smell lingers. Every time I step into that room, it smells like a smelly oily scalp. At this point how can I get the smell out of this room without tearing up the floors or walls? Would an air purifier help? Can I wash painted walls without ruining them? Help please!

Kitchen UPDATE POST How to best clean kitchen faucet

Post image
Upvotes

ORIGINAL POST: https://www.reddit.com/r/CleaningTips/s/xZ3zfqm2QO

I wasn't able to update my original post with a photo of the kitchen faucet post-cleaning, so here's an new post. I soaked the faucet in a citric acid+water solution (2 tbsp citric acid and 2 cups water) for about 2.5 hours and then scrubbed it with a toothbrush. Major success! Thank you to everyone who provided helpful and relevant suggestions, I really appreciate your feedback.

To everyone who told me to throw it away and buy a new one - THIS is why it's wasteful to do that. Many things *can and should* be cleaned. If that is not successful then of course, replace it. But you should at least try to clean it first.

And to those who chose to insult me personally in a subreddit for cleaning tips - please get some help.

Laundry Wedding shoe cleaning advice

I had the absolute best time at my wedding. Unfortunately that came at a price. I love my shoes and would hope to be able to clean them up to wear again in the future.

They are silk and leather.
So far I have tried simple baby wipes but I don’t want to try anything further without some advice.

TIA

Furniture help getting diaper cream out of couch

Post image

i need help getting this desitin out of our brand new couch. MIL cleaned some of it out (that’s baking soda on far right side), but the connecting cushion on the couch is covered in desitin and the rest of the couch still has a white cast and a thick greasy feel left behind. we have used baking soda, dawn in hot water, detergent in hot water, and the little green machine and still not much luck. we also dont know exactly how long it sat on our couch before we got home, but it’s been there at least 2 days so i assume it will be harder to get out the longer it has sat there. TIA.

I started with a heavy duty degreaser and a scraper but there's got to be an easier way especially considering I'm on a ladder. It's like a fine layer of PL premium mixed with cobwebs. Any help is appreciated!

Bathroom Bleached? tiles in bathroom shower

I can only guess this was bleach, my house cleaners did this. They came back for another scheduled cleaning and it did not get any better.
I tried myself as my husband got me pads to use for his drill. I applied soft scrub in sections, let it pretreat under three minutes and used hot water to scrub. One section might mildly look better but overall that did nothing. I sprayed Clorox on my side of the shower and left it overnight and that did not help either.
Any ideas?

Discussion BEWARE OF THE SQUISHY TOY FILLINGS. SOME HAVE A PASTE THAT WILL RUIN CLOTHS PLUMBING AND CLEANING MACHINES.

Upvotes

My kid recently got a giant banana squishy toy. It ruptured and is a horrible mess. The top layer of the foam will dry and still be a paste underneath. If gets into cloths only rubbing alcohol will work. Do not let it get in your cloths, carpet or cleaning machines ( washing machines, carpet cleaners and dishwasher. )This shouldn’t be a kids toy. Watch out for the squishy toys that have a plug or a little cap it’s some type of vinyl polymer foam .

General Cleaning What’s your ridiculously easy cleaning tip that somehow keeps your home clean?

Upvotes

What’s one super simple cleaning habit or trick that feels almost too easy, but makes a huge difference - especially when you live with people who constantly make a mess? 😭

I’m looking for those little “why did nobody tell me this?” tips that actually make keeping the house clean easier.

Discussion Pantry Moths help

Upvotes

It’s been months and I’ve been using the pheromone traps and the sticky blue light plug ins.

I do not have birds or bird seed. We have no rice or pasta or flour in the house. Dog food is in a plastic container, treats are in a glass container. My pantry mostly is cans. I threw out my houseplants. I threw out all my mason jars of beans and whatever else. I’ve wiped inside my cabinets with bleach. I’ve sprayed inside the drain. I’ve vacuumed and wiped.

They’re in the kitchen and office and bedrooms and bathroom. I can’t find a source. They’re everywhere and I can’t burn my house down and it’s driving me insane

I feel so ashamed that we are living this way

Kitchen Just moved into a new home and noticed these streaks on the stainless steel range hood. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone,

We just bought a house and noticed that the stainless steel range hood chimney has these large vertical streaks/discolorations.

We aren't sure what caused them. It looks like chemical etching from an harsh cleaner?

Has anyone seen something like this before? Is it fixable with a specific polish/cleaner, or has the protective finish been permanently damaged?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
