Hi all, Aussie citizen here, currently in FIFO/mining and researching a move to Thailand, likely on the DTV visa.

I’d have around 2 years of basic living costs covered, with the goal of spending the first 6 months seriously preparing/networking/applying for remote work.

I’m looking at APAC/ANZ remote roles like:

• SaaS SDR/BDR
• SaaS customer support / technical support
• maybe customer success later

Background: fluent English + Spanish, no tech sales/SaaS experience yet, mining/operations background, comfortable with KPIs/sales pressure.

I’d love to hear from people who have actually done something similar:

• Did you land remote work while already living in Thailand?
• Were APAC remote roles open to you being based in Thailand, or did they require Australia/Singapore/etc. residency?
• What was your experience like trying to network from Thailand?
• Which city/area would be best for this kind of plan — Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, somewhere else?
• Any coworking spaces, meetups, or communities worth checking out?
