My impulse purchase: 3.0tdi Manual allroad

Post image

I was actually looking to buy a newer Audi or jaguar but then this one came for sale for really cheap and specced exactly how I wanted. It’s in need of some tlc but that’s alright, that’s why I got VCDS.
No need to warn me about reliability, I used to have a phaeton.

That color on gravel look so right, like it belong there. I got my A6 in same shade and it hide dirt perfect which is blessing when you live near unpaved roads

The Phaeton comment got me, if you survived that this Allroad will feel like toyota. VCDS is must for these cars, already saved me twice with weird sensor errors

Manual diesel wagon is getting harder to find, especially with spec you want. You plan to keep it long term or just fix and flip?

Thanks! I do love the color. I haven’t had the time to inspect the body yet but if it’s seems to be technically in good condition I think I will keep it long term as a daily and do repairs and upgrades gradually. I was surprised how comfortable it is to cruise in. Not too far of from the Phaeton in my opinion

manual C6 allroad with the 3.0 TDI is a genuinely rare spec, most of them went auto. good buy, and the phaeton line means you already know exactly what youre in for lol

What’s the catch with the reliability? Engine seems to be solid.

20 year old car with air suspension and other electronics. I wouldn’t buy one if I couldn’t fix most stuff myself and enjoy (some of) it

Electronic is surprisingly fine for this age (got the same one in petrol 3.0), but what's under the car and behind wheels is where it didn't age well for me. Oh and head gasket seals, might be even more annoying on diesel engine :D

Engine is solid, 3.0 with cp3 pump and 4 chains - those does not rattle often. But yeah, air suspension can be pita, but nowadays u can buy parts for reasonable prices, when those cars were few years old oh my Lord 2 new air bags costed u arm and leg.

Interesting, this is [somehow] the first time I've ever see a C6 Allroad, very nice!
