Rant Can’t Bring Myself to do SF86
Lord almighty please deliver me from remembering the address of everyone I’ve ever crossed paths with in my life.. Or thanks for reminding me that I really don’t know anything about anyone in my life. It has taken me over a month to fill this thing out due to avoidance and general suffering and I’m not one to be overdue on anything. But this form, I just can’t 🤦♂️

POSITIVITY! FY27 DAF Action Rifle Team, Airmen Wanted!
Hello all,
Over the last year, I have been leading the Department of the Air Force Action Rifle Team (Provisional) and helping build the foundation for future Airmen and Guardians to represent their service in action rifle competition.
While the team remains in provisional status, it is in a strong position and may eventually be codified in Air Force guidance. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of the team, serve as an ambassador for the Department of the Air Force, and carry forward the tradition of service members competing in firearms sports.
Who I’m looking for:
Airmen and Guardians actively competing in sanctioned matches in any of the following disciplines:
PRS Centerfire
PRS/NRL .22
NRL Hunter
Precision Gas Gun
Quantified Performance
Multi-Gun (2-Gun / 3-Gun)
Current expectations:
Be an active competitor in your shooting sport
Maintain membership in the applicable competition series for score tracking
Maintain Department of the Air Force standards for dress and appearance, fitness, body composition, upgrade training, and professional military education
Represent the Department of the Air Force professionally at all times, both on and off the range
Passing PT Tests
No disciplinary issues
FY27 team outlook:
For FY27, the team may expand to 8 members, an increase from the 5 slots in FY26.
To be fully transparent, 3 of the additional slots are not expected to include reimbursement funding. However, those members will still be able to establish ammo accounts.
To avoid overloading my work email, please contact me at [Dafactionrifleteam@gmail.com](mailto:Dafactionrifleteam@gmail.com) . There you will get further information and receive documents to complete so we can conduct team selection. You will hear from MSgt Thornton or SSgt Jones.
If your sport isn't listed here please still feel free to still reach out and I can vector you to the correct shooting team.
Finally the cut off for scores will be 16 October 2026 with selection being around the beginning of November.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from fellow DAF competitors.

Article Pentagon refused payout for soldiers who died in Iran conflict ‘because it isn’t a war’
Libby Klinner, a widow, wrote on social media that the US Air Force had deemed her ineligible for additional benefits following the death of Major Alex Klinner, her 33-year-old husband, because Congress had not officially declared war.
He was one of six crew members of a KC-135 refuelling aircraft that crashed in western Iraq in March while supporting US strikes against Iran.

Question Debt repayment remission/waiver
Has anyone ever filed for a remission or waiver on debt repayment or know how likely it is to get approved? I was overpaid due to a PCS (OHA and COLA were still being given to me) and had a full month of overpayment. I dont really mind if I have to pay it back since I knew about it so I kept the money, but if the waiver/remission could get approved then keeping the money would be pretty nice.

Rant HHG Nightmare Fiasco
Salutations,
Why is HHG handled poorly for people that separate? This is the TL/DR version. Essentially I separated during the government shutdown end of last year. Tried this year to get HHG shipped from storage to my final destination. It took big blue four months of pandering to get the ball rolling. Fast forward to ship date to new house. Majority of my items were missing and or broken in transition. Why do I need to provide every minute detail on the items when they have copy of pictures and the list from when they went into storage for a claim? When I made a claim I was offered nothing $0? $3k in damages and big blue shafted me saying I needed to provide repair quotes for an 86 inch tv amongst other things. Frustration is real so I just gave up. The process needs to be revamped. Ain’t no way you think I’m going to do the work when you all selected the transportation company who destroyed my things. Now both parties don’t want to be accountable. F me right? Smh 🥹 picture below of my tv for example.

Question ETP for retraining into 4R0X1
I'm trying to write an ETP in order to retrain to 4R0X1 as a FTA. I don't have the required college speech class credit but I do have the English credit as well as experience as an EMT from before I joined. Has anyone had any experience writing an ETP for something similar? Every search I've done just leads to ETPs for out of cycle retraining. The specific questions I have are:
I have it addressed to HQ AFPC/ 4R0X1 CFM. Is that right or should I put someone else?
Does it need CC endorsement or do I just attach it to my package?
Any other tips/help would be appreciated. I'm just a dude trying to get out of 2A🤷🏽♂️

Question Dependa with deploying hubby
Let me preface, that I'm reaching out for positivity.
My husband is scheduled to deploy to the desert in about a month. When we first found out, I cried. Correction, I sobbed. We've been focusing on spending as much time together, leading up, focusing on happy moments instead of dwelling on our impending time apart. But as the date gets closer, it feels more real.
I'm so nervous because of everything that's been going down around over there. I've already been doom scrolling this subreddit with the keyword search of "Deployed" and it's been less than calming to say the least. It also doesn't help that we're stationed overseas in a completely different timezone from family. I made the choice to stay overseas while he's out there, just me and our two kitties. The reason is that if I'm frank with myself, I know I'm just going to feel overwhelmed and smothered by certain family members.
I've been trying to equip myself with support, leading up (church, volunteering) knowing fully well that my hubby-missing ass is gonna need it severely once he's out there.
My first question - Are there suggestions of things I can do, leading up and during I can do for him to help ease his anxieties? Habits or rituals? I want him to feel supported and don't want to add to the stress, ya know?
This is his first deployment. Geez, I miss him already and he's not even out there yet. 😮💨🥺
It doesn't help that I have a bad habit of self isolating when I'm sad. I'm the type of person with a very limited social battery (my ideal days are binging TV shows with him all cozy on the couch or gaming together). And I can only imagine that's a habit I'm gonna have to train myself not to do when he's deployed. Any advice or words of wisdom on this?
Thank you in advance for any advice or uplifting input.

Question MTI DUTY
I am thinking about being an MTI. I am single with no dependents. I feel like everyone says the same thing. There's long work hours, you will be stressed. The school is BMT 2.0. Its constantly changing... Is there any other information that you can give? Where do you live on base off base. How much down time do you get in between flights. How did you decompress for the day. Was it worth it? If I were to move I would want to purchase a house in Texas, is this a good idea or would you rather live on base. I just want as much information that I can get.
