For starters, as a New Yorker, Fat Joe saying the n word don’t really bother me. Some of ya will disagree. That’s fine. It’s a nuanced conversation.

HOWEVER:
1. NOT ALL PUERTO RICANS ARE BLACK.
There is a difference between being Latino, Hispanic, Spanish, and Black. African heritage is absolutely a major part of Latin American history and culture. But being Latino does NOT automatically mean you have African ancestry & being Hispanic damn sure doesn’t. Puerto Rico is no different. There are Black Puerto Ricans, white Puerto Ricans, mixed Puerto Ricans & yes, racist Puerto Ricans. That’s reality. Stop flattening an entire people into one racial identity just because they speak Spanish.

2. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS YA LETTING WHITE-PASSING FAT JOE TELL YOU HE’S BLACKER THAN YOU. With all due respect, WHERE THE FUCK WERE YA NUTS IN THAT ROOM?

Watching a room full of Black men sit there and let Fat Joe essentially tell them he’s “blacker” than them was fucking disgusting. Let’s be very clear: Fat Joe is white passing. Idgaf how many classic records he made. If Fat Joe wasn’t famous, he would NOT walk through the world receiving the same racial treatment as the Black men sitting across from him. That distinction matters.
Nobody had to disrespect Joe. But somebody should’ve looked him dead in his face and said:
“you can identify with Black culture without telling Black men you’re Blacker than them.”
That should’ve been the end of it.

And hearing Ice & Ish try to rationalize that shit afterward? LAME ASF!

There was nothing nuanced about letting somebody who is visibly white passing diminish the Blackness of the Black men sitting in the room. Ya looked sweet as hell & showed anyone can sit on that couch and play in ya face !

In the Fat Joe N-word discussion, Marc & Mona clearly explained that Ricky Martin is a white Puerto Rican. Ish & Ice ask what if Rick had a black sibling lol how thats like saying if two white Americans had two kids one white & one black lol. Do these 🥷 not know that every Puerto Rican isnt mixed or have black ancestry? The descendants of spaniard colonizers didnt just disappear lol

There was a separate pod from the main one, I think it might have had some patreon pods and like extra bts pods where they’re just talking casually without any real topics to focus on?

No wonder her instagram is just her posting thirst traps and her podcast clips. I swear I never seen a clipped Mona joke when she’s on stage. I seen her entrance and her shaking it on stage but never a half a joke, full joke, or audience reaction of them laughing at her joke. It’s obvious Mona is more of an online personality than a bonafide comedian. She’s like Nene Leakes where stand up is just the current lick

When does all this policing just become performative? Fat Joe definitely has ancestors that was called that word in the formation of the Caribbeans as we know it

The last 15min of today’s pod showed exactly why Ish is needed on this podcast. I know his lack of self awareness can be frustrating but when he lets the jokes roll and even plays into them, he’s the best on the pod next to Joe. Their back and forth alone is the main source of humor on the pod in my opinion. Ish saying why he didn’t go to London and Joe reminding him of what he said (with some added sauce of course) had me rollin!
