Video Day 503 of Pally and Me’s Adventure until I can loot his armor. Thanks for getting me down guys… why you looking at me like that?
What’s that smell? Oh…
If either one of you PEEPS about this… you’ll help me raise my destruction skill… you’re already pushing your luck Trayvond.
Hail citizens. Turns out fabric and fire do not mix. It would be really nice if a certain Palace Guard had some PALACE ARMOR he could spare? Anything Pally? You’re the worst Palace Guard I’ve ever seen.

Original Question Im thinking of buying oblivion, should I get the original or the remaster
(I wasn’t sure what to use as the flair so I just used one of the question flairs) for context I’m playing on an Xbox series X, i wanted to play oblivion since I heard magic is better in this game after having loved playing Skyrim as a mage but after reading some of the issues the remaster had im not sure if I should buy the original or the remastered version of the game, you guys have any advice? Also if I should buy the remaster is the delux editions extra content worth it?
edit: for clarification I’m playing on an xbox

Video Day 502 of Pally and Me’s Adventure until I can loot his armor. Khajiit always land on their feet.
There’s this house right? A gate opens and sends me flying and I’m coming down fast. But everyone knows a cat lands on their feet, thems the rules! Well I did just that. Yep, pretty heroic right? I made sure I didn’t break the rules. Now uh, can I get some help down? Pally? Trayvond? Anybody?
Hail citizens. Clearly what happened was I heroically fought off a gate opening on the house I stayed at. Pally and Trayvond are around here fighting Daedra but I got the second floor covered. Yep, just gotta wait till they close the gate. Any minute now, they’ll get the sigil stone and nobody has to know… oh, I know, I’ll guard the entrance. Yea, thats right! I’m guarding the entrance!

Remaster Discussion Is there consensus on whether Remastered runs better on Linux than Windows?
I've recently started using Linux as my primary OS, including as my primary gaming platform. Although some games have had some hiccups, I've actually found Oblivion Remastered to run significantly better on Linux than Windows. On Windows I had semi-frequent stuttering and pretty frequent crashes during loading transition, but on Linux I find the game running more smoothly and without a single crash.
I'm wondering if my experience is unique or if others have found the same. Is there any online consensus about whether Remastered runs better on Linux than Windows? If anybody's struggling with performance on Windows and has access to a Linux installation then I'd suggest giving it a go.

Remaster Discussion I'm thinking of returning after upgrading to a series X, are there still save issues?
As the title states. I bought the game at launch but I was disappointed by the performance on my series S. I only played a few hours and shelved it until now. I remember seeing that people had issues with their save files, and was curious of the state of the game since it isn't getting any patches

Original Discussion It's funny that in Skyrim the Stormcloaks worship Talos while in Oblivion the Nords hate Talos
If you talk to the priests of Bruma, they complain that the Nords of the city refuse to acknowledge Talos because he's an Imperial Divine of the Imperial Pantheon from Cyrodiil. The Nords literally fought Tiber Septim at Sancre Tor and were crushed in battle by the Emperor. He's an Imperial Divine, so he is not considered part of the Nordic pantheon of Skyrim, even though in life he MIGHT have been an Atmoran (or a Breton, depending on the sources). As such, the Nords refuse to worship a deity that they perceive as foreign and hostile... even if it's Talos.
I guess the implication is that the Imperials eventually converted Skyrim some time after the Oblivion Crisis, after Titus Mede I took the Ruby Throne and reunified the Empire. The Imperials probably used Martin Septim's sacrifice and the Avatar of Akatosh as propaganda to convert the Nords.
