Keldurn Wow classic to play from the web browser!!
Hi everybody!
Just to let you know y'all that there is a crazy guy that managed to make able to play wow classic in the web browser!!! honestly it works fucking amazingly and there is already online people, fully free. No pay to win it's looking awesome create an account and join us!! also something very important to highlight is that there is no lag! and the admin is very active.
The version is Vanilla 1.12 original rates so basically is the "real". Available languages English & Spanish also there are adding to be enables or disabled as you wish. Also there is auto balance for the factions :)
PS: it works better at least in MAC with Brave browser, I can login too from mobile but not able yet to play it from there.
im not the creator! so all the credits to the creator :) hope he will be with us soon.

Get this working on mobile browsers with touch controls. This would be awesome

If you have a high end android phone you can already play wow classic via gamehub (x86 to arm emulation) fully on the phone, no streaming.

I can't put my finger on it...
But I don't trust this...
•
u/urthface 1d ago
No it’s great, it even handles your subscriptions. You just put in you bank account details

thanks Claude

Funny how it takes like 1ms to spot classic AI Slop UI
•
u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 1d ago
I mean all the assets are imported from the real game so no slop there (except the underlying code ofc). But the new header is AI
•
u/Phototo 20h ago
Hey! I believe this is based on my coded vibes 😄
If anyone wants to try it out themselves,
https://github.com/Arnesen/wenilla
https://github.com/Arnesen/wenilla-realm
Based on https://github.com/samwhosung/benilla
Pretty straight foward to run up I would say

The project is complete vibecoded bunk. It performs like garbage, a lot of stuff is broken, the creator doesn't even know anything about how it works. He just kept spending thousands on Claude credits.
There's a yet unannounced project that has been in the works for 6 years I'm waiting for that is 1:1 in the browser and made by an actual vmangos developer.
•
•
u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 1d ago
Even if it's vibecoded it's kinda crazy how this is possible now. Anyone can do this quite easily
•
u/Altreiya 1d ago
I dont think its that crazy. It was always possible with OpenGL but nobody ever bothered doing it because there is no reason to. The server load is insane, you can't use AddOns etc.
There is just no reason to just use a normal client instead.
•
u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 1d ago
rendering is one thing. Now look into the difference in network architecture between a windows client and a web app
•
u/ajdslfjhalsdgjha 17h ago
I'm in the private Discord server for the project I've mentioned and you'll be delighted to know the entire LUA engine is ported to webasm and addons work.
I really hope the creator launches soon because I'm worried all these slop projects are going to overshadow his launch. He spent to much time making sure it was perfect instead of shipping when it was good enough.
•
u/ShadowheartMyBeloved 1d ago
Wasting 6 years of your life to accomplish what this guy did with AI in a few days LMAO
•
u/OfficialDrakoak 1d ago
Idk how you can compare that to this unplayable slop. Mad I wasted my time making an account.

•
u/Beniskickbutt 13h ago
There's nothing wrong with using ai but it sounds like he didn't squash the bugs or issues that ai created
•
u/stefanw1337 1d ago
Because the poster of this is not the creator? That's why he doesn't know, he's just hosting it I suppose.
•
u/ajdslfjhalsdgjha 17h ago
Did I say the poster was the creator?
Go look at how Benilla runs for yourself. It's single threaded. Only a complete rewrite could fix it's current predicament. It is not suitable for a real use.
•
u/stefanw1337 15h ago
So you have spoken to the creator directly?
I saw one dude making wow in browser, had a YouTube channel showing it off. He sounded like he knew what he was doing, might not be the same creator you spoke to then.
Nah, I'm good on checking this out, I don't need this particular type of WoW. But I'm sure it's not fully released, and that it's being worked on toniron out bugs and add features and performance.
•
u/ajdslfjhalsdgjha 12h ago edited 11h ago
Yes, I'm in the Benilla Discord and have spoken to him, as well as reviewed it's code. Take a peek at the Benilla Github and you'll see Claude has written the entire thing.
No the other creator remaking the game in three.js that you have seen on Youtube is not who I am talking about. That is not a serious project.
There is a yet unreleased WoW in the browser project that includes full multi-threading support as well as a utilization of a bunch of high performance browser APIs. You'll see it very soon on this sub if the creator can finish it up soon. I know he's in a rush now to get it out before these slop projects steal his spotlight.
I've participated in it's private alpha and it really is everything promised. You click the link and are instantaneously at the login screen. The core package to run the game is only 8mb. It loads as if nothing is being downloaded even when I tried it on a mobile connection. It's all heavily compressed and streamed (no visual difference I noticed). It also has an awesome guest system where you can play it up to level 10 without making an account, it's really well thought out. The dev is a known entity too, he's been a vmangos dev for 10 years.

u/Legitimate_Match_708 2h ago
This new legitimate browser project, is it completely private? I haven't heard anything about it and would love to stay informed on it.

Lmao cry more, he will finish it way faster and likely better with Claude than any other « actual programmer »
•
u/ajdslfjhalsdgjha 1d ago
until you actually try this client and it runs at 20fps because the entire program is single threaded

Best reply you can come up with huh? Probably don't even know what multithreading is.
•
u/UndeadMurky 1d ago
Unironically a vibecoded program would be much better than a recreation made by a programmer, as long as it's properly directed to reverse engineer the client

It doesn't run that great but it's still pretty cool.

I noticed some of the SFX doesnt work or is louder or quieter than usual. And it has to load a chunk each time you do something new, other than that it runs pretty durn smoove.
Bad quality video but here.
•
•
u/Locolex1 1d ago
Can you install addons? I cannot imagine
•
u/schaka 1d ago
Not yet. This is a project that's been posted a few times and will be open source(if not already released now).
As far as I recall, there was a way to reinterpret Lua as Javascript at runtime, so it was planned. Not sure it works (fully) yet
•
u/Lucky_Pangolin_3760 1d ago
tbh it's really bad and I'd be surprised if they ever manage to get a stable version. It constantly crashes and lags at every screen with popping models and textures everywhere. It's simply too much for a web browser to handle
Also it's clearly AI vibe coded

Try it with Brave, it makes the difference

working fine on firefox, questie seems to throw lua errors for some quests in night elf starting zone, but after turning it off in addons tab the game runs surprisingly smooth
•
•
u/ObjectiveSalty2685 1d ago
as far as I know, you can't but bear in mind it's being worked on so suggestions are welcome

Signed up with a generated password about an hour ago and havent received a confirmation email. i checked spam and have refreshed many times. It does let me log in but i eventually get the error "keldurn is taking longer than expexted. your account is safe" in both chrome and brave. firefox fails to even begin to load. id really like to try this out. Hopefully its an issue with a lot of people joining.

They really missing out with mobile, adding touch screen control even basic would be awesome
•
u/Additional-Yam-913 1d ago
Insane! Had some fun at work lol! It's like 120 ms from europe and 10 fps on this PC but hey! I killed a few wolfs at the very start :-)

The page is garbage, nothing quite works right, forms are not aligned correctly nor have basic checks. Once I finally managed to create an account and log in, nothing works except the shop. Seeing where your only interest lies OP I guess there's no real interest to make this a thing. Save yourselves a few clicks and move on to something else interesting on reddit, this ain't it
•
u/triple_slash 1d ago
You just taking credit for someone elses work, just taking benilla or its web fork wenilla and compiling it, and slapping a cash shop on top, 0/10 slop
•
u/TehGoad 23h ago
you mean like Blizzards work or 🙄
•
u/ButcheringTV 23h ago
Lol yeah, hard to complain about something like that when the whole thing is a rip off of Blizzards work.
Also OP very clearly stated it isn't theirs.
•
u/triple_slash 22h ago
Yeah ofcourse that too, but that goes for every server here in this subreddit doesnt it
•
•
u/Patamaudelay 1d ago
do no put your real password on this vibecoded shit.
This thing will be broken in a month or two

Everyone complaining about it being AI made but this would be amazingly ballsy and awesome if it was built with Copilot. 😁
•
u/Personal_Ad9690 1d ago
Is it actually running in the browser or is it remotely hosted and streamed
•
u/SuperUranus 1d ago
Upvoted this post simply because it wasn’t written by AI.
•
u/stefanw1337 1d ago
How do you even know?
•
u/SuperUranus 1d ago
I mean, could be!
But at least the person behind this instructed the AI to not sound like AI if so, and that’s a plus in my book.
•
u/AccordingPay9126 1d ago
Bro.. the login screen screams vibe code
•
u/SuperUranus 1d ago
Sure. I was talking about this post though.
I fully expect all private servers to be vibe coded today, but its nice if threads in this subreddit about those servers aren’t bot spam at least.
•
u/Ok-Membership7405 1d ago
Thats pretty cool but why would one want to play through web browser when I can just download the game and run it smoother
•
•
u/NinjaMaster6536 1d ago
Its free.
Workplace/school computers that monitor downloads.
Low effort for people not interested in wow but might wanna try it out for a few minutes.
•
u/redwirebluewire 1d ago
Playing wow in a browser is so degen. Attractive to trashy low iq slop that hide their toon name. Right, Thompson?
•
u/FrameRender 1d ago
I love how you hide your character name, Thompson
