I have no clue what a lancero is and google doesn't help even with the clase 389

So yes. Some explanations would be cool.

That said, from what I read, legionaires aren't usually joining because they are killing machines but because often they don't have another way. They are not always the peak of humanity.

Legionnaires traditionally went for a new life or to escape a criminal record back home as the eventual reward of being a legionnaire is becoming a French citizen and receiving a pension.

Nowadays it mainly attracts people from former French territories like Senegal and Mali that speak French and want to start a new life in the West

Special Forces, SEAL, Ranger, paratrooper are all titles and terms that tend to garner respect and admiration from U.S. military personnel and civilians alike because of the physical and mental strength it takes to earn them.
