Those are not the roots of it though. Those who fight are both an effect and a cause, a prolonging, a symptom.

But the roots will keep the fight going as long as they exist, so even if the fighting surrender, it's not a meaningful end, it's like turning off a car's engine to stop it from moving but neglecting to engage the handbrake or put it in park.
