Technology What if someone stole a human's mind thats marketed as an ai and is put into a robot with wires scraps and computer parts
Okay so i have this idea about a dude participating in a game testing program but the program is disguised as a Mind stealer that steals ypur mind if you put on a machine that steals your conscience. And then that mind gets marketed as an ai and that ainis bought and put into a robot made or wires and scraps and computer parts. What crimes did the people involve commit?

The thing about such AIs is that you can produce a single, optimal one and make unlimited copies of it. Using many uploaded human minds you don’t know what you’re getting.

This is not currently a crime in any jurisdiction I am aware of.
Prove they “stole“ the mind - is the guy‘s physical body dead or injured?
Yes⬇️ No➡️ No crime
Murder or civil liability for wrongful death.
A bunch of wires with a human consciousness is not even a person legally, so it can’t be a victim of kidnapping, enslavement, or even abuse since technically it’s not even a living thing.

Current day: You'd have to prove that the mind was stolen. If the human were unharmed, I'm not sure there would be any crime. If the human is brain dead, that would at least be a civil case. If he's dead, that could be some form of homicide. But other than that, I don't see a crime under US law.

These are called Servitors in WArhammer 40k. Well they’re clearly defined as not AI and as former humans, but the concept remains the same otherwise.

The entire Warhammer universe that spans 400 novels so far has this as a quite extensive part.
Both just using the brain for things like say a guiding missile. Or in am array for computing.
And the human body is stripped of everything not needed, gets added robot parts and you're now called a servitor. If you're nice when they cut you up, they might remove your consciousness. If not.. Well. You don't get to have enough control of your body to complain or express any pain anyway.

They basically committed the cyberpunk version of kidnapping: nonconsensual human experimentation, assault, unlawful imprisonment, identity theft, fraud against the buyer, and probably trafficking if they sold the mind as property. If the original body dies or is left brain-dead, tack on murder or attempted murder. The robot buyer could be guilty too once they learn the AI is actually a trapped person and keep using it anyway. Horrifying premise, very Black Mirror courtroom episode.
