Lending shotguns . How ?

Hi . A friend of mine would like to lend me his shotgun to take his Son out shooting with me .
I have a SGC & so does he , his son is in the process of getting one .

Whats the process of him giving it to me for a day to be returned later the same day ? Do you have to write it on your certificate even after it’s under the 72 hour rule ? Or does a written permission letter suffice ?
( My certificate table has been filled & some so no more space to write on it if i need to . Getting it sent back in when i have a chance to )

Cant actually find much useful info on BASC or anywhere else so thought i would ask here .

He gives you the gun, you give it back within 72 hours. That's all that's required, it's as simple as it sounds. If you want to be careful, take a picture of his ticket on your phone
