Identification Help

A bit of back story here.

My neighbor growing up had an old farmall tractor and he was like a grandfather to me. I know it was a farmall but that’s it.

I enlisted in the military and moved away and he passed while I was gone.

I came back home to find that his son had an auction company come in and do an estate sale. Tractor included

I was driving through a part of town the other day and swear I saw the tractor.

Can anyone ID what model it is? This is the only picture I have

Generational 446

My case 446 (was swapped to an 18 horse onan so kinda a 448) that my great grandfather purchased new in 1977. I just reacquired it after moving into a place that required a small tractor again. Came with a belly mower, rototiller, snow caster, grading blade, wheel and front axle weights, cab, Brinly single furrow plow and a tow behind sprayer. Many hours on this tractor and it is ready for a rebuild but still runs and drives. Currently rebuilding the belly mower so I can quit mowing my lawn with a push mower

Both the Case and plows along with the Cub Cadet were my Grandpaps. I finally got them to the local County Fair to be shown for the first time. I did have the plows and the reel mowers there last year. The Case is a restoration in Progress.

I need to move my non-running International 504

I've got to get this thing moved from where it sits, and when It was set here maybe 5 years ago it rolled off the trailer just fine. The problem is I need to move it, and it won't budge. I've checked that it's in neutral, and pulled of the shifter to verify that it's not engaging two gears at once. I've pulled off both brakes to make sure they're not seized. I've tried the TA lever both full forward and full backwards. I have the rear of the trailer lifted off a few inches and there are a few strange things I notice. I can rock either wheel back and forth just a touch, and I can see the gear that attaches to the brakes rocking too so it's not jammed up behind that. I do notice that when I rock a wheel forward, the other wheel rocks the same direction. I don't think this thing has a locking diff, so that's quite suspicious. I also am unable to shift into any gear whatsoever, while the plates under the shifter look like they're properly in neutral, I can't get any of them to move.

My #1 priority at the moment is to move the machine, not necessarily to fix it yet. Wondering if anyone has any ideas or tricks I can do to get this to move as easily as possible without having to get a bigger piece of machinery out here to move it. Are there wheel dolly's that can handle this maybe?

Looking for tractor advice for 20 acres

Upvotes

Hey everyone,
I recently bought 20 acres and plan on using the property for food plots, planting corn, and general property maintenance/bush hogging.
I’m looking to buy a used tractor and would appreciate some advice from people with experience.
A few questions:
What size/horsepower tractor would you recommend for 20 acres and these types of jobs?
How many hours is considered “too many” when buying a used tractor?
Are there any particular brands or models you guys would recommend?
Anything specific I should look for or avoid when buying a used tractor?
I’m not necessarily looking for anything huge, just something capable of handling a bush hog and the implements I’d need for food plots/corn without being undersized.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

My grandpa had done some work to them, and both of them seem to crank over without issue but I haven’t actually started them. The only details I really have on them is below. I believe the tractor was homemade in the 50s. Any information or a value would be helpful, thanks!

So the little grocery store in my rural town closed and the former owner made vegetables and potatoes to sell in front of the store - now the store is closed and he is closing down his production so I bought the old tractor bc that thing needs to stay in our town

Early '70s Gravely 814

I picked up this early '70s Gravely 814 with blower and extra tires (weighted and unweighted) for $500. It work like a top and starts up immediately. The only issue is that it is stuck in 1st (maybe) gear. I can switch between high and low but not the gear number.

If anyone has any tips for this old workhorse I'd appreciate it!

This tractor generated a bit of interest so here's a closer look and that Detroit sound, in the mid 50s Chamberlain started fitting Detroit engines in their broad acre tractors, they were also available as retrofits to their earlier petrol kerro boxer engine tractors hence why this one has 45ka on the front grille

Cleaning Rusted Gas Tank

Upvotes

I have an IH 674 with a rusty tank (~15-20 gallon) that is restricting flow due to rust and debris flakes. Is there a semi-quick, effective and relatively cheap method to get it usable condition?

Also, if I wanted to pay someone to clean and seal it properly - who would that be (mechanic, powder coat shop, etc) and how much would it cost?

Original post This is the Oliver 1855 I’ve previously posted here, recently got back to tinkering with it. After attempting to prime the fuel lines I’ve gotten no fuel to drip. Is it most likely due to a weak injection pump?
