Wow, apparently only aired for 2 seasons as well. Very cool to see when shows are beloved in an unexpected international market. I just found out Coco (the Disney movie) did INSANELY well in China for instance, as well as Zootopia, compared to other markets. Never would have guessed!

The show pretty badly underperformed in the US and is pretty disliked by Western cartoon fans, is the main thing. It's not as hated as some of the stuff Nickelodeon was doing around the same time and along similar lines, like Breadwinners and Sanjay & Craig, but it's not liked.
The show having a huge fandom in Japan is... odd, actually. (But explicable- Japan tends to like western cartoons that are weird and stick out as odd novelties for their premise and sense of humor more than they like the more standard stuff. Invincible is kind of the only "normal" western cartoon that's really hit massively there in recent years, and only because it's basically a gory shonen fighting anime but with western superheroes.)

Which makes it even funnier that King of the Hill is a cult hit there. But I guess it's so "normal" that it wraps back around to weird again. Even in the adult-sitcom-cartoon subgenre, shows are usually wackier and less down-to-earth.

Sometimes media properties will get marketed in Japan with cute stationery goods. Pickle and Peanut happened to get some folders, key chains, and stickers. I would still not claim the following was particularly large but marginally popular for a short period of time.

I never even knew this was an actual show. I remembered once seeing some kind of holiday special or something involving snowball fights and it would randomly shift between a bunch of different styles and animation types.
It reminded me of if Tim and Eric and Gumball had a baby then abandoned it in the woods.

Never heard of it and have never seen any merchandise here. I've lived here for 10 years now and actually arrived late 2015.
It's possible I've just never seen any personally, but I've been on the Disney story in Shibuya and to Disneyland itself and there definitely wasn't anything related to this when I've been. Never seen anything like it anywhere else either.
I viewed the sources on the Wikipedia article but they are literally just Tumblr and Twitter posts claiming its big in Japan with some pictures of merchandise somewhere.
Gonna call doubt on this one but maybe someone is more familiar with it than I 🤷♂️
