I've been building something called App for Hope for the past few months. Small right now, only a handful of users, but the last week made me realize why I'm doing this.

Someone posted a 90-day sobriety milestone. Anonymous username, no profile pic, no followers to perform for. Just the post. Within a day it had close to 40 responses. Every single one was encouragement. No "congrats but be careful," no unsolicited advice, no one turning it into their own story. Just people hitting the Encourage button and meaning it.

That's the whole design. There's no like-to-dunk mechanic, no quote-posting to add commentary, no public reply threads where someone can hijack your win or your prayer request. You post, people encourage, that's the interaction.

We're at 6 users and 628 visits in 30 days, so this is early. But that one thread is the proof I needed that the model works for people who actually need it.

Has anyone else built something specifically to remove the "pile-on" dynamic from social? Curious how you approached it.
