Discussion Looking for place to learn AI led development

Upvotes

I think just using Claude and Astra won’t lead me anywhere. I actually want to learn how I could work with AI and develop systems that can be taken to production. Also how I could automate workflows using AI agents.

I can do a bunch of things here and there but I amnot sure how are companies actually doing it. I have been developing a massive fear that I might be obsolete and loose my job to someone who can do all of those things with foundational development knowledge.

Discussion I never thought I would post something like this but, Jobs are in fact about to change a lot and the market might get even more cooked for people starting in IT. Astra isn't only hype.

Upvotes

Tldr : read the last part only at least

Read the full thing guys I think what I am saying is worth reading,

I got to use Astra yesterday, and it Is finally an ai that can deliver end to end. I had a job that I thought my teammate would need at least a whole day to do Astra did it all using mcp and CLI tools in a few prompts. A single prompt with a goal and it can execute not only the 80% easy part that most llms used to but rest of the 20% that took a lot of time as well , provided the user has a goal in mind. ( Even thinking can be outsourced atp tho lol).

No the output doesn't look like AI slop so even the talk of human touch will be just cope. And if you wanna say ai still needs someone to steer it and debug things, I doubt cause most of us surely ain't smart as these frontier models. Only a goal and it will debug itself. (There might be some people whose human touch and knowledge valuable enough) But for the most part ai has become good enough.

Countries like Nepal , India etc that are seen as cheap labour might face the worst consequences.

I highly suggest people don't fixate on IT only. instead of seeking for jobs and stuff, using your tech skill on a different domain might be extremely powerful. If you can somehow manage , get the chatgpt 200$ sub and see for yourself what I talk about.

Discussion How many people in Nepal are actually into AI?

Upvotes

I’ve been getting pretty deep into AI lately, especially LLMs, coding agents, and personal AI agents. I’m curious how big this community actually is in Nepal.

I know a lot of people use ChatGPT/Gemini/Claude casually, but how many of you are actually using things like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or building personal agents like Hermes?

Would be interesting to know:

  • How seriously are you into AI?
  • What AI tools/agents are you using?
  • Do you use coding agents for actual projects?
  • Has anyone here built or runs a personal AI agent?
  • Are you using AI mainly for coding, work, research, automation, or just experimenting?

I honestly have no idea how large the AI enthusiast/developer community is in Nepal, so I’d love to hear from people actually doing this stuff.

Discussion Interactive Nepal Flood Map + GeoJSON Editor to track affected areas and crowdsource data

Post image
Upvotes

Trisuli Bazar is my hometown, so seeing the destruction along the Trishuli khola hit really close to home. I couldn't just sit back, so I started using my own memory of the area alongside open datasets to map out affected structures in my neighborhood.

Following the recent datasets released by NAXA, HOT (Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team), and MapBuds on HDX, I built a web map to visualize everything in one place and let people contribute:

Live Map:https://shrestharajat.github.io/nepal-flood-map

It can currently help Visualizes flood-impacted zones and damage layers from the HOT/NAXA HDX releases and it also has a simple in-browser editor where you can plot or edit points/shapes and export them directly as GeoJSON files.

This is a static page so your contributions to this will not be saved however you can export your effort into a GeoJson file that can be useful later. Link to NAXA's post: https://www.instagram.com/p/Dcpqk_2nbGb/

How you can help:

  1. Feedback & Ideas: What features would make a tool like this genuinely useful for volunteers or ground response teams? How can I make data contribution smoother?

  2. Test the Editor: If you know an affected area well, try adding a few points in the editor and let me know if it feels clunky or buggy.

  3. Data Sources: If you have access to or know of other open GIS layers (UNOSAT, OSM, local field reports), please drop the links in the comments!

Huge thanks to NAXA, HOT, and all the field mappers for making their datasets open on HDX. Let me know what you think or how I can improve it.

Resource Sharing Anyone want to split ChatGPT Plus? Looking for 1-2 trusted person (50/50 split)

Upvotes

I am planning to get a ChatGPT Plus subscription using my own Dollar Card but $20/month is a bit steep for a single user. I'm looking for reliable partner to share the account and split the cost.

Details:

Split: 50/50 (Around Rs. 1300-1400 per month each).

Payment: You can send me your share via Esewa/Khalti at the start of the billing cycle.

Usage: I'll be using it mostly for image generation and for abit of research.

Looking for someone genuine and mature who won't betray later on.

If you are interested, drop a comment or send a DM so we can coordinate.
