Looking for a good breeder
We are located in Michigan near the ohio border and we would like to find a reputable breeder of Swedish Vallhunds.
Does anyone in this group have recommendations? We are willing to drive up to 12 hours away if needed.

Valkyrie Vallhunds is in Illinois/Mississippi
My pup, Grayson is from them and is an absolute delight at 9 months old.
I've heard mixed things about Dan at Suddanly Farms/AU Reult SD based in NC, he has some interesting rules around vaccines he will try to enforce and I've heard different things about the environment his pups live in, especially during the winter.
Minikota is based out of Minnesota and I've heard nothing but good things about them and their pups.

I have a SV from Dan Campeau. I went to his farm and picked him up 3 years ago. He was 10 weeks old. We flew back to Seattle. He has been an absolute dream. He had some initial puppy vaxs but any further vaccinations have been left up to me with no input from Dan.

Dan talks about things he doesn't know and takes credit for things he does not do and has not done, I saw a breeder legitimately have to tell that man off twice for claiming a dog three generations of was related to his.
The breeder explained that that was not true, Dan tried to say it was because they had one dog in common; he was a second cousin and it was his breeding. It was no, the dog in question was a dog who was bred by a breeder in Sweden or ever owned by him.

Yeah I don't want to shit talk Dan at all. But at the same time my own experience when talking to him about a potential pup, plus what other breeders have said to me led to my statement.
I am so happy your love your pup and he's healthy! Maybe my experience was a one off and the other breeders are just being catty.

Hard no on Dan. He has historically had a number of unsocialized/reactive adult dogs that he stealthily tried to rehome, as well as having a reputation for being unethical and shady in breeding the dogs he bred previous to Swedish Vallhunds. I was warned away at a dog show by folks who heard he had started breeding our breed, and followed up out of curiousity… to discover the strange number of adult dogs he rehomes (both genders, no explanations) as well as some of his strange ideas around health care and dogs.
Our breeder no longer breeds, but Alkemi in NY is amazing. Both breeders mentioned in Minnesota also have great reps.
