TIL that the Gustav Vasa Bible, printed in 1541, was the first complete Bible in any Scandinavian language and helped establish the foundation of modern written Swedish.

Swedish Band Recs?
I'm looking for some Swedish artists to listen to as I'm learning the language. I'll listen to pretty much any genre but anything rock [esp hard rock, alternative rock, punk/grunge, that kinda vibes] is ideal.
stort tack!

Transcription request: Roy Anderson
I am obsessed with this beautiful stunning scene from Roy Anderson's "pigeon sat on a branch...". So much so that I would be eternally grateful if someone transcribes the lyrics of the song sung, in the original Swedish. I can only find the lyrics in English, but want to memorize the original.

Hade verkligen uppskattats.
Tack på förhand! Hade uppskattat att få höra lite åsikter massvis!

Roseanna and Elmer P. Kafka
I'm a fan of the Martin Beck books. One of the things that hooked me on the series early on was there was an American detective from Nebraska who played a key role. He was named "Elmer B. Kafka." This is a glorious name, but I was born and raised in Nebraska and that is a very unlikely name for a Nebraskan. I've often wondered how Sjöwall and Wahlöö came up with it. I have two theories. The first theory is that they researched as much as was easily possible from Sweden in the 1960s and picked "Elmer" because it was a very common boys name in America forty years prior to their writing and picked "Kafka" because they learned that there are many Czech emigrants in Nebraska. My other theory is that "Nebraska" was just their way of saying "some place past the edge of the earth" and they didn't think it was detail that was important to their readers, not knowing they would be translated into English.

Recs for games in Swedish
Hi there! I’ve been studying Swedish for around six months now, and I noticed that I really suck at the listening part. I want to add more Swedish to my everyday life.
Do you have any recommendations for Swedish video games? I want them to have original Swedish VO for authentic experience.

Lyrics to song NSFW
Okay so i found a meme on TikTok that seems to be a parody of the Hi-Ho song from Snow White, except with kebab store workers singing abt the kebabs. I’m an American, never been to Sweden, and I don’t speak Swedish at all, and i don’t even know for sure if this is Swedish, i’m just guessing since the creator has the location to “Stockholm”. Can anyone provide lyrics to this ? I will say, for people of Middle Eastern ethnicities, this might be a hard one, cause they all have like super exaggerated features and i feel like i shouldn’t like the meme as much as i do. But enough rambling, here’s the video

Traditional Swedish folk music?
Is there a traditional Swedish singer or band in a similar vein to franzl lang? I’m specifically looking for a traditional band or artist that sings and makes folk music as a rule rather than just an ancient single from a band who never recorded anything else or whose records have been lost to time or a band or singer who did one album or song in a traditional style and everything else is pop. Any recommendations for a good artist or band that fits?
