I find the DNA part a little weird, don't Kryptonians lose hair that contains their DNA? Surely they could just go to Kara's bed and search for a few strands of hair. Also, they could have just copied the recording before losing it forever. Of course they probably wouldn't be able to replicate it as a hologram, but if the human eye can see it so can a camera. At least that way the speech itself isn't lost.
